Beginner Guitar Lessons for All Ages

I have been playing guitar for a few years and can teach the basics of learning guitar to both kids and adults alike, whether in-person or online. We will start by learning basic finger exercises, several of the basic chord shapes, strum patterns, scales and chord progressions. Students choose music they want to learn and we play along with using those chord shapes and strum patterns.

    About Molly B.

I am a piano, voice, and guitar instructor, specializing mostly in classical piano instruction, with eight years of experience teaching kids and adults of all ages and most experience levels with options for in-person and online lessons. I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Drake University, where I specialized in piano, voice, and choral music. From there, I've performed as a pianist, singer-songwriter, vocalist, acoustic guitarist, and have taught classical piano, guitar, and ukelele to hundreds of kids and adults. I am now a regularly performing and active country and Americana singer-songwriter, acoustic-guitarist, performer, and recorded artist regularly and have been performing for a variety of audiences. I have studied classical piano and theory since age five, learning a wide breadth of essential repertoire from a variety of composers and musical eras and genres from extremely knowledgeable teachers who passed along that knowledge for me to share. I've also been trained in piano education technique for several years under many mentors and teachers having improved my craft through hundreds of lessons given consistently through the years. I believe I have a tried-and-true method for teaching proper classical piano technique and physical skills to beginning and even experienced players that can help piano playing become a more engaging and successful experience that will instill a sense of accomplishment in anyone who wants to play. My lessons are tailored to each student's goals and needs. With piano I can take a more classical approach, focused on reading traditional staff notation, or we can take an approach from a more theory-based system for more popular music such as country, rock, pop, and more.
