I’m a professional singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist who is signed to an international record deal and has unmatched teaching experience. I became a Takelessons partner in 2013 helping to launch their online lessons program, Google Helpouts, and beta tested Takelessons group classes/Takelessons Live. I have taught students all over the world (Approximately 30,000 lessons) on all video conferencing platforms including: Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, Google Voice. I take pride my students growth and accomplishments and share my own love for music by helping us make better music. My teaching style is easy to understand and I always make the learning process relaxed and fun. I’ve coached well known musicians, actors, actresses and celebrities, tutored on set Hollywood feature films and coached during recording sessions, prepared students for school and college music conservatory admission, castings, tours, and major label industry showcases. I’m flexible, reliable and treat all my students with top respect. I began playing guitar at age 8 and have played/sung professionally since age 11. I studied with the best rock and pop vocal coaches in the world and graduated from New York University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Jazz guitar. My songs have been placed in feature and indie films, commericals for Nike, CocaCola, Samsung, Adidas, Capital Bank, and CBS, TNT, E!, MTV, VH1, Oxygen, TBS. As an artist I've had press worldwide including Billboard, Rolling Stone, Guitar World and more! I teach all styles including: pop, rock, classic rock, indie rock, grunge, alternative rock, hard rock, metal, punk, jazz, R+B, soul, blues, funk, classical, and folk. Singing, voice: You will see improvement immediately and begin to have a better understanding of proper resonance and intonation, support/proper breathing and diction. I’ll explain and teach you to use vocal placement to expand your range and how to bridge between registers. Vocal range will no longer be a mystery. You’ll begin to understand vocal resonance and vowel modification techniques to get you to sound your best and how to adapt your voice to different music styles and personality. I will show you technique and help you maintain your vocal health. and more including: runs and riffs, vibrato, screaming rhythmic singing, and learning to write melodies and lyrics for your songs. Lead and rhythm guitar: My step by step approach to learning to solo is easy to understand and apply. You’ll master Pentatonic, major and minor scales quickly while we work on your musical understanding. You’re understanding and love of music will grow as I teach you how to handle simple and sophisticated chord changes, and you will begin to be able to phrase like your Guitar Heroes. I’ll help you with chord voicing including: triads (open and closed), four-note chord voicing, comping, strumming, finger style, and how to play all styles. Techniques include: bending, alternate picking, sweep picking, tremolo picking, hybrid picking, tapping, tone, EQ and effects pedals, slide guitar, hammer ons and pull offs, arpeggios, and exotic scales, modes in diagonal, 3 or 4 finger positions. Bass Guitar: My bass students will learn timing and rhythm better than ever. I teach right hand finger style and pick techniques. We build your sense of rhythm, negotiating odd time signatures and improvising, walking bass while I develop your understanding of chords, key and harmony. You will learn arpeggios, double stops, chords and improvising writing your own bass parts. All of my students learn to sightread standard notation, tablature, music theory, ear training, composition and songwriting. You'll learn songs you love and build healthy, proper playing and singing techniques, while having a great time learning.
