About Jill

Join me for the creative unleashing of highly effective processes of learning success. Your instruction will include: A. creative problem solving (unleashing the genius within) B. formation; a foundation is planned (architect) C. building; drafts are written (carpenter) D. finishing; the writing is polished (finishing editor/proofreader) I've used these guiding principles countless times in my life. Just as a jeweler would not be able to sell rough stones, Jill would not have been able to make anything in the publishing field without employing these principles. Her college papers would have been fair to dull rocks. She can say this as the daughter of a bricklayer who was the son of a stonemason in a familial line that dates back to middle 1600. So, of course, I did learn about laying bricks and throwing rocks too. Not very many structures

stand the test of time when we throw rocks (rough drafts). Only with this brick, mortar, and finish will the building stand. But enough about my lineage. My capstone point is that the finishing point of any building or writing should communicate a great product. In creating this description I had the above principles in mind. My college papers, business papers, copywriting, web designs, resumes, and even informal conversations are inclusive of this process of which proofreading is a vital component. Why? Well, I might want to throw a rock at myself if I assume myself incapable of accomplishing as much. And as the daughter of a bricklayer, I think I know about bricks and buildings, and mortar, and capstones such as proofreading. So now at my concluding paragraph contains the capstone of what is called proofreading. Proofreading, as my gem of a teacher told me, is constructed with similar principles. It contains a precise methodology which assures great communication. I would like to involve you in this structure. Please step in the door so I may explain the steps involved in editing and proofreading as art, the elements and principles of Art and English as your toolkit, and design as your structured building of success!

About Harry

I have always loved the learning process and so I made it my mission to create a life of helping others to learn.

This life has mission has taken me around the world teaching various subjects in all sorts of places and my love for it grows more and more everyday.

I have seen from all my wonderful experiences that having a teacher working closely with you to guide and support you allows students to fly and achieve anything they want.

In the case of learning a language its such am individual process that immediate feedback and adaptation of the lesson is the key to quick acquisition and confidence in applying those language skills.

I believe my enthusiasm, patience and problem-solving skills are the perfect combination in helping my students to achieve their dreams.

I am excited to work with you.

About Sheldon

I am an experienced artist that has traveled the world, learned from many teachers, observed, utilized tested techniques and have a mentality that I can always be learning. I studied art a little more than average in high school, but graduated with honors in college with several classes of studio level ceramics. During which time I began teaching other students. I loved being able to help those who were in the studio with me.

My love for art began when I was young and have always been pushing the envelope of my skills to get better, and be able to understand more complex principles of art.

As I matured in my artistry I began to develop my own styles from the many teachers I encountered and produced my own pieces that ranged a variety of genres: watercolor, acrylic, drawing, sketching, charcoal drawing, oil pastels, markers, pens, shar

pie temporary tattoos, poetry, wire sculpture, ceramic sculpture, pottery wheel, photography, plant design, bonsai, and most recently I have developed as an oil painter.

With so many avenues I have ventured down, I am thankful that I have learned to take creativity into everything I do. This especially came to true when I began to travel the world. From Europe to Asia, I have learned from different cultures and have taken that opportunity to reflect on and venture back to teach you some of my favorite techniques that I have had the privilege to learn.

He gave expert advise and technique but also embraced everyone creative side. Hope to have another night with Sheldon as our teacher. Super fun night!!

About Tony

Hello! Hello! Hello! Im Tony! I have been doing photography and editing for over 6 years. It started out as random request from my friend who was a music artist, who was looking to do a photoshoot from which he would pick a photo and use for his album cover. I told him i would help, he let me borrow his camera, I took a few pictures and BOOOM! I was hooked! From there i continued learning under many mentors and eventually started doing all types of events. I love the fact that in photography no matter how much you know, theres still always more room for new things to be learned. I'm looking forward to meeting many of you and helping you achieve your own personal goals in photography!

"I am an adult student (33) taking beginner drawing lessons with Jessica. My interest/goal is to draw realistic portraits (maybe in a few years), but with
no background, I'd better start from the basics, and I am so glad to have Jessica as my teacher. Her philosophy about how to approach art alone is already teaching me so much - for example, what's the correct mindset, how to really observe a subject, how to practice drawing even when I am not drawing.

We have been working on building up foundational skills and their sequence, which gives me clear understanding on what each small step means in the long term. Based on my interest and what I knew and didn’t know, Jessica would design each lesson with a specific focus in mind, usually around practicing a certain technique. Her homework (I ask for homework since I draw slowly) also reinforces those learnings. I feel more confident with each lesson, and my progress is noticeable.

Also, she is incredibly encouraging, patient, and generous. I never feel judged or self-conscious practicing techniques in front of her (often clumsily) or showing her my new drawings. She always gives thorough feedback and encouraging words. Overall, she gives me confidence on my journey, and that is much needed for an adult student who didn’t have the chance to start when younger. Best teacher ever!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed my lessons with Jacob. My husband gave them to me as a birthday present and it was tons of fun. Jacob was able to answer all of my
nitty gritty questions, as well as general tips on improving my skills. The lessons were enjoyable and I learned tons. I've gone from shooting in complete auto mode, because I didn't know how to do anything different, to shooting in aperture priority mode with much better results. My Christmas portrait of my kids will be much better this year thanks to these lessons. If you're looking for an affordable way to improve this is a great option because you'll learn a lot in just a few one-on-one sessions. Jacob was also very flexible in working with me on the schedule for the lessons. Thanks Jacob!"

"Today's art lesson with Dan was planned, organized, and given in a friendly, professional and very informative manner. He has excellent communication skil
ls and his demonstrations are informative as well a fascinating to watch. As Dan's student, I was immediately put at ease by his friendly and energetic personality; I felt as if I were talking to an old friend and I left the lesson with a renewed enthusiasm for painting. I really feel as if I doubled my understanding and enthusiasm for oil painting in my first lesson with Dan. No matter what your skill level is, a few lessons with Dan will do wonders for your painting ability and you will enjoy every bit of the time you spend with Dan."

"After viewing some of my paintings she was spot on identifying bad habits and offered many ways to improve. She is immensely skilled as a diagnostician.
She presented her points clearly and fully without being condescending. Very much worth the investment. Can’t wait for the next lesson. Due warning. She can assign homework."

Photoshop vs. Lightroom for Editing Time-Lapse Photography

By Suzy S.

Once you've done your time-lapse photography, how should you edit it all together? Here, Pasadena, CA teacher Nathan H. shares his recommendations, plus the pros and cons of using Photoshop and Lightroom...   So you just finished your amazing time-lapse of the sky. You’ve composed your shot. You’ve made sure nothing went wrong. You’ve waited an hour for your camera to take 600 images. It was a long, painful process.
