I noticed in my first lesson Tamera was throughly prepared with all the foundational info that I would need to be able to stand before walking. She was also mindful to allow me to sing as I normally would so she could correct my errors and therefore help me achieve my best potential

Very professional and friendly . Made me feel at ease . It was my first vocal lesson.
Are you interested in studying piano for the first time, or are you looking for a new teacher? Regardless of age, I can help build a strong foundation for you, in terms of practice, technique, music theory (musicianship), and performance. For the very young student or for the adult beginner, piano lessons are an excellent source of structure, relaxation, creativity, fun, and discipline.
I use a variety of method books (Dozen a Day, Bastien, Faber, and others) that I have found to be very successful in building technique and theory skills alongside the study and development of repertoire for performance.
I encourage students to perform in front of others in recital opportunities, while at the same time, I honor each student's goals and needs. Whether you're playing for pleasure or starting your child on a musical journey to last a lifetime, I will be there to support you at every step!
Welcome! Thank you for visiting my page.

I've studied classical, jazz and rock piano with the finest teachers in the world, and bring that perspective and experience to each lesson. Learning music should be FUN, which is emphasized particularly with younger students. What do YOU want to be able to do on the piano? I can help get you there!
Hailing from New York City, Steven W. has been involved in the performing arts his entire life, which began as he received his training from a number prestigious arts institutions...Julliard (where he studied piano), New York University (where he studied music education), and the Katie Agresta Vocal Studio (whose other students include Sting, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lenox and many more, including the casts of numerous Broadway shows).

Steven also records and tours with other artists, playing huge festivals all over the world.
Having performed on small cabaret stages fo
r just a few people, and in stadiums for 60,000, he believes in not only teaching technique, but also how to tailor a performance for the appropriate situation. It's this combination of technical training, and performance experience, that Steven brings to his classes as a teacher.

Steven is a great teacher and very nice person.
My son like him very much.
My son took lesson from few other guitar teachers, but he said Steven is the best teacher ever !

Steven was great with my 8 year old daughter. He got her excited about learning guitar, so much so that her 6 year old brother begged us to take lessons as well. He was also very responsive to my questions and made some very helpful suggestions about how to enhance the experience for her. We were so sad that he moved away!

A great teacher.
Steven is professional, fun to work with, and gets great results.
I have been playing piano for 10+ years and have taught piano for 1 year.
I received my Bachelor of Music (Voice) and Master of Music (Voice) degrees at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music in 2009 and 2011. I have been singing professionally since 2005. Among my courses at CCM were Music Theory and Aural Skills. English and grammar have always been a passion of mine. Having studied German, French, and Italian, I have had extensive exposure to translation, sentence structure, and grammar. I have taken piano and voice lessons for 10+ years.
A few companies I have had engagements with outside of Cincinnati are the New York City Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Gotham Chamber Opera, and Salisbury Symphony Orchestra. In Cincinnati, I have worked with the Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Vocal Arts Ensemble, Collegium Cincinnati, Nanoworks Opera, and many other
I have been teaching voice lessons since January of 2012 and have taught beginning piano as well. My professional website is melisaharveysoprano.com
I want to get as much musical information about you as possible. We would speak about long term/short term goals, past experiences, and, if capable, I would listen to how you play your instrument. It is very important to best know how I can fit in your musical journey. I work with each student differently and will ultimately come up with a method that best works for you.
I have been working with students of all ages (ranging from 7 to 60) for the past 5 years and has developed an incredible amount of patience and angles of approach. I understand that everyone is unique and needs a different method of learning. My promise is to find the best route for each individual student and to offer premium instruction in reaching their desired goals.
Learn classical and contemporary pieces that cater to new piano players. Learn scales and their fingerings. Learn chords, progressions and how to read & recognize chord changes.
I operate in the music arena as a touring musician; a Music Director for musicals, jazz ensembles and choirs; a composer & songwriter; a band teacher at my local elementary school, a private instructor and a producer with a degree in Jazz Composition and Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. I am currently performing and writing with Divinity Roxx (Beyonce, Victor Wooten, etc.), Elle Winston, Kate Vargas and others. Most of my writing and creating is done here in my private studio. I am proud to have produced tracks featured by the likes of Elton John on his Beats 1 Radio (Apple Music) station. That is to say, I'm really proud of the artists and having such an inspired space.
I have, and continue to be honored to perform all over the world with some of the most prolific players this planet has seen and those it will experi
ence in the coming years. I find playing music can be a great source of inspiration and release. But most importantly, everyone has a voice to be heard through music.
I have taught privately since I was in high school on my own. Over the years, I have also been affiliated with some amazing entities. Additionally, my work in arts administrative (Brooklyn Academy of Music -BAM, UVA Music) and my new affiliation with Zoo Labs translates into my ability to show you skills that will garnish success when you aren't playing music.
My students can expect growth in knowledge of rhythm, understanding of music and song forms. Your timing will improve! Your feel for styles (blues, rock, jazz, hip hop, EDM, etc.) will improve! Your technique will be through the roof!! I empower my students to do whatever they can dream to do with music, whether it is for personal enrichment or personal ambition.
I will demystify anything you feel is outside of your reach and grow you into the musician you want to be. My private studio is a fully equipped playground for the musically-minded with all the tools and materials you need to grow as a musician, so all you need to bring is your imagination. I look forward to the journey.
Granville is an excellent teacher ! He is a able to teach technique to my 3 year old in a way that he instantly gets it. The vast array of instruments he has available for my son to experience is a musical playground!

Granville is extremely knowledgeable, patient, organized and invested. Recommend him to EVERYONE!
Hello! Through my four years at Juilliard I have studied with amazing pianists such as Frank Kimbrough and Dan Nimmer. Although I majored in jazz trombone, I have been a proficient piano player since I was very young. I use the piano everyday to compose, so I am more than capable of teaching beginning to intermediate players how to properly play. I have a very cohesive lesson plan designed to give any student a well rounded basis for playing the piano. Teaching has always been my biggest passion, I can't wait to work with you! Contact me for more info!
Hello! I'm Sam and I'm a graduate of the Juilliard School. I'm a huge music nerd and teaching is one of my biggest passions. For eight years, I have been teaching students of various ages and backgrounds, compiling lesson plans designed to work with students at ALL LEVELS. As a prominent NYC based jazz trombonist/bandleader/composer, I am more than qualified to teach any student. I have given numerous masterclasses, workshops, lessons and group lessons in everything from classical trombone technique to jazz history. I offer fun, cohesive lessons catered to your ability in the following subjects:
--Trombone (jazz and/or classical, beginning to advanced)
ok Sam is fantastic!
the connection was a little weird at first but it was on my end I think because the second I moved to my living room it was steady. Rather than find a local teacher I just figured to see if I could find someone affordable online, and wow, he also went to Juiliard!
6 out of 5!

I'm so lucky I found Sam! I used to play piano and was hoping to brush up on technique, learn jazz chords/harmony, and play along improvising with a jazz soloist. Getting a Juilliard trained musician for this price is a STEAL, I highly recommend.
June 21, 2019
I bounced around with a few other teachers who had flashy profiles, but none of them had as thorough, personalized, or challenging of an approach as Sam. He was so quick to diagnose my mistakes and had a way of making the trombone fun rather than frustrating (imagine that!!)
I am an extremely versatile piano teacher with over 30 years of experience. My Russian-based training in both piano and ballet enables me to understand and teach a relaxed, coordinated approach to the instrument. If you have technical problems or limitations, I'm a great troubleshooter! I emphasize reading, as this is the skill that makes it possible for you to enjoy playing the piano for the rest of your life. I have developed my own curriculum for students as young as four, but I enjoy helping students of all ages conquer their fear of reading. I'm a serious teacher with an irrepressible sense of humor.

"Phenomenal teacher. After a 20 year hiatus from playing piano, Marie-France brought me from a beginner student playing chop stix, to a 3 year level, play
ing Fur Elise - in less than one year! It still surprises me to think about how far I've come, and I can say without hesitation, it is because she is an amazing teacher. She encourages me, is patient and easy going. She teaches with the particular student in mind, gears lessons towards your goals and challenges you to ensure you keep progressing and working on developing skills. She's also fun and personable - you'll just love her!"
"Getting back into what we've learned felt very easy and the emphasis on finger formations helps me play better."
"Great teacher, lots of conversations about technique"
"My son Joseph takes lessons with Seth. Joseph can get distracted and get off track throughout his lessons at times. Seth has the ability and the patience
to get him re-focused on the matter at hand-the piano. I know Joseph does not like to practice very much but gets very excited when he knows Seth is coming over to work with him and teach him. He is doing quite well and I am very happy we started lessons with Seth after thinking about it for over 1 year. Thanks Seth!"
"Experience and Enthusiasm
It has been an amazing experience learning to read and play music as an adult. Barbara is an experienced music teacher who crea
tes a comfortable learning environment which allows me to discover and experience the joy of music. Her contagious enthusiasm and quick wit, make the learning experience enjoyable. I continue to look forward to each lesson and after only one year, I am thrilled to be able to perform for family and friends!"
"I would personally recommend Kathy because i have taken piano lessons for almost 2 years and felt very comfortable with her teaching techniques for the be
ginner like me. And the best part is goes according to your pace of learning and gives time to catch up, which helped me a lot."
"She is awesome!"
"Michelle is a great piano teacher, she taught 3 of my kids. Michelle always took the time to make sure each lesson was fun and interesting. I would high
ly recommend Michelle as your next music instructor."
"I purchased a gift certificate to gift piano lessons for my father. He had his first lesson with Lena today and asked that I write the review for him sinc
e he does not use the internet very much.
He said: I really enjoyed my lesson with Lena today. She is a really patient, kind, and caring piano teacher. Her teaching style was very clear and easy to understand even though I do not have any past experience in music or playing instruments. She helped me learn the basic keys. I look forward to taking more lessons with her. I have already signed up for 4 additional lessons. Thanks, Matthew"
Whether playing Mozart or the Muppets, or even "Mary Had a Little Lamb", nothing beats the joy on a child's face when they've conquered a new song!
No doubt you've seen or heard video clips of children showing off their talents on the keys, and it's pretty inspiring to see. A quick search on YouTube will pull up tons of kids playing piano, some so young you'll be amazed. Here, we've selected a few of our favorites that are definitely worth watching:
