Bachelor of Music from Drake University
Marial W.Book Now
I have played violin for the past 18 years and received my Bachelor of Arts in Music at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I am currently a graduate student at Boston University. I think the most important part of violin playing is having fun and enjoying what you do, so I really emphasize this in my teaching. I also think it is important that we use our bodies well and avoid playing related pain, so my teaching focuses on getting players into a comfortable position with their violin. I have taught all ages, and am great teaching in the beginning stages when everything feels new and difficult!
I have been teaching violin for the past three years and have experience with a variety of different students. My own background is in classical music, but I also have done clinics and performances in jazz, mariachi, and fiddle. I like to cater to my students and find what music drives them, so I v

She briefly went over the next lesson plan and gave me a little homework to do as well.
I got a lot out of this lesson and I can see how this will help me accomplish my goal of being a better public speaker and having a more controlled and stronger voice.
Looking forward to future lessons.

Cello Performance Major / Jazz Minor from University of Georgia
I am a third year cello performance major at the University of Georgia and have been playing the cello for over eleven years. I have experience performing and practicing in a variety of ensembles and genres (i.e. orchestras, chamber ensembles, jazz, rock/jam bands, bluegrass, pop). I plan to incorporate music theory and ear training into lessons to help my students become more familiar with their instruments and repertoire. I want to encourage innovation and creativity in each of my students so that they can feel comfortable approaching any musical opportunity.

I never expected voice lessons to change my life, but I'm so much more confident with myself as well as my singing voice. Much love and success Christine. You're the BEST keep up the good work!"
Angela has a bottomless well of patience and understanding.
I've struggled with notation reading forever and can become easily overwhelmed when trying to read music. Also, playing in front of others isn't my strong suit.
That said, Angela has dealt with my issues systematically and mostly transparently. After just 6 months of lessons I'm really reading music and my ability to play in front of others has increased a great deal. Did I mention she does all that with a smile?
On top of being able to make huge improvements towards my real underlying player issues Angela's teaching methods are consistently increasing my musical knowledge and playing technique.
Also, because I have previous theory education, she's able to explain piano to me, not just in "players" terms, but, also from a theoretical view point as well.
The icing is her ability to constantly push me beyond my level of comfort, almost without me even noticing.
Ms. Hall is an all around excellent teacher.
After more than 6 months of lessons with her I have not had a single bad or questionable experience."
