My goal is to enable students to feel confident in expressing themselves though music, while polishing their technical skills and expressing their emotions through the powerful musical language. I have taught violinists and violists in individual/private and group settings over the past four years I have been at New England Conservatory. I have a Bachelors degree in Viola Performance, and have had 18 years of education on both violin and viola, in solo, orchestral, and chamber music settings (my favorite!). My hope for all musicians is that we cultivate the drive and ability to share our gift with others!

Try taking a deep breath. Did the air make a noise as it went in? Try again now, with your mouth more open. Did it still make a sound? Keep trying to take a deep breath. Let the air flow freely so that its nearly silent. Now go find a mirror. Take another silent breath and then try singing an 'ah' vowel on any pitch without making any change to the throat, mouth or neck. How relaxed and still can your body be while inhaling and singing? For added fun, try doing this while laying down, with your head resting on thin pillow or the floor. How did it feel? What worked for you? what didn't? How much of your full range can you sing with this easy feeling? How can you make your performances feel this easy?

In my studio, most of our discoveries will begin with questions! We all know what good singing is to some extent. We know it when we hear it, and hopefully when we do it too. While many aspects of good singing are universal; I think its important to recognize just how different ...

I've been teaching piano lessons for nine years, and over that time have taught more than 200 students, from ages 4 to adults. I love to see each student find their own passion for music - and I look forward to doing the same for you! While developing classical technique and music reading, within a few months you'll be playing popular songs of your own choosing! With thirty years of piano playing experience, I believe music should be a joy to play at any level.

Absolutely AMAZING! Great for the mind body and soul. Almost two years ago, at the young age of 65, I began taking Piano lessons with Kelly. Having a good teacher, coach, or instructor is so important to the success of any journey.
Kelly has the special qualities that every teacher must have to be effective.
Comfortable from the very first lesson, Kelly's enthusiasm, observations, and teaching skills make every lesson a unique experience that will motivate you
and keep you coming back for more.
Kelly is an excellent choice for anyone of "Any Age" wanting to experience the benefits and joy of studying music. Go for it!

I highly recommend Kelly Jenkins as a piano teacher, especially for older adults. As a 66-year-old student, I particularly enjoy my lessons with her, and I thank my lucky stars for having found Ms Jenkins at this stage of my life.

What seemed impossible is now possible, thanks to her. An injury to my left wrist that I suffered years ago is easily overcome, and I feel a special thrill as I see my hands glide over the keyboard, practicing arpeggios.

Kelly is a patient, gifted teacher who seems to intuit just what you need to draw out the best that is in you. Give yourself another chance at what you love in life!

My favorite aspect of music is creating my own compositions! I've spent over 25 years studying classical theory and composition as well as modern composition for TV, film and popular music. If you're new to composition, I can help you understand the fundamentals and approaches to writing your own music. If you have more experiencing writing your own music, I can help take you to the next level!

About Peter

I currently compose music for TV, film and other digital media in my own recording studio. Prior to that, I spent about 25 years playing guitar, piano, bass and drums in bands and as a studio musician. At school I studied classical music (theory and composition) as well as orchestration and compute

"After many years of contemplating learning an instrument and making excuses like a busy schedule, I finally made the commitment. I started the first few weeks with online videos and made a little progress. I found Jordan through this sight. I was hoping to find someone who would help guide me on a steady path to improvement and growth. Jordan has been a perfect fit for me. He's patient (I'm not). He is encouraging (I'm pretty hard on myself). I am slowly getting better and wanting to stick with it. I think it's because he's clear and methodical in his teaching and he keeps you enthused with music that you like. While I have a long way to go, I practice every day and look forward to my weekly lessons with Jordan. I'm learning the guitar for my self and over the past three month Jordan has helped me stay engaged and excited about playing the guitar. I highly recommend Jordan and will continue to learn from him."

"I've found a keeper instructor. Lots of good players out there teach guitar, but somehow it just doesn't work out. Dan has plenty of experience playing, but it takes serious talent to teach others. Daniel has both! Sets goals for students based on their needs/aspirations. If you don't click with Dan, you might need another path, like tennis or swimming...."

"John is an outstanding player and pedagogue. Over a number of years, I've observed John work with students of incredibly diverse backgrounds, ages, and skill levels. With each and every student, John connects with the individual, finding what will help that person rise to their fullest potential as a flute player. Technical progress is a given when studying with John. Additionally, students consistently enter his lessons eager to learn and leave with a renewed drive to grow. I cannot recommend John highly enough."

"My son has taken guitar lessons from William for 8 years and I cannot recommend him any higher. I am proud to say that not only is my son a remarkable guitar player due to Williams teaching, he is a better young man. William has been such a positive influence and has become a dear family friend. He teaches guitar and respect and opened our family up to the wonderful world of music in the Phoenix area. I'm happy to share a photo of William, my son and I at a classical guitar concert at ASU. Spend your money wisely and hire William"

"My name is Peter Gardner, and I am an English professor and professional clarinetist, teaching at Berklee College of Music. Elisa was one of our English tutors in the Liberal Arts Department at the college for four years, and she was one of the most engaging and productive tutors I have supervised in my 35 years running the tutoring program. She is bright, conscientious, gregarious, and humorous and, simply, a wonderful person to be around. She is a natural born teacher and connects very well with her students, both on a personal and academic level. I also know her to be an excellent musician, with an extensive background in both performing and teaching, and well-versed in all styles of guitar playing. I cannot speak highly enough about Elisa as a person, a teacher, and an artist. I recommend her to you, at whatever level you're at, as much as I have ever recommended anyone!

I am an older student who has never even touched a bass and in a matter of weeks I have been able to play songs under the instructions of Mr. Blackwell. Bravo to him and his teaching method!"

Easy Violin Music for Beginners and Beyond

Playing some familiar tunes is one of the first things you may pursue when learning a new instrument. You might start the violin thinking it will be years before you can play the music you want, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn that many familiar favorites are available as easy violin music. Simplified sheet music makes it easier than ever to move from bland scales and exercises to pieces you actually recognize. Add these pieces to your repertoire early on and you’ll return to th …
