When I first begin teaching a student, I tell them that everyone has the ability to sing well no matter his or her experience. I also tell them that there are four things that a good singer must have: breathe control (air is your fuel, and must be used efficiently and effectively to give you the best sound), posture (in order to have access to your air and prevent vocal damage you must practice good posture habits), diction (how you pronounce words when singing can impede or improve vocal tone, as well as help or hinder the audience in understanding the lyrics) and finally and most importantly, passion. Passion is how emotionally connected you are to music and is what really allows the singer to connect with his or her audience.

"Stacy is SOOOOO AMAZING!!!! She has helped me not only with my singing, but with my confidence and my life. Her cats always cheer me up after a rough day at school. She has improved my singing so much that I actually tried out for the Wizard of Oz. I wasn't going to at first, but she helped me learn somewhere over the rainbow, and made me more confident to try out. She is an amazing singer herself and not only the best singer I know, but a great friend to me. I go to her for thirty minutes on Wednesday and that is definitely the highlight of the week! I always can't wait to sing with her and talk with her. If you are looking for the best voice teacher in the world, I highly recommend Stacey!""

My nine year old daughter has been diagnosed with ADD which is ADHD without the hyperactivity. So much of her trouble comes from people not understanding that although she is quite, she still struggles to maintain focus and so things such as following directions becomes a challenge for her. Margo was very relaxed yet firm with my daughter. She offered encouragement and support that allowed my daughter to feel comfortable but to also know this is a serious environment. Another thing Margo does is lessons via SKYPE which help with consistency anytime my daughter is away."

Do you get nervous when singing, or maybe right before a vocal performance? You're not alone. Thinking about all of the worst-case scenarios can be scary! It's amazing what you can do with your voice! Unlike other musicians, as a singer you carry your instrument with you at all times. The opportunities to practice and perform your art are vast, as well as the ways to experiment with different styles, techniques, and of course, harmonies! Similar to a guitar player plucking one note and then building it into a chord, learning how to harmonize will create that rich, full sound when you're singing with a group or a choir. Singing harmonies, …
