How do you transfer a 3D subject onto a 2D surface? How do you draw what you SEE and not what you THINK? Drawing is the ability to see and transfer accurately what you see onto your 2D area. There are many techniques and tricks from the drawing masters I have shown my students that are effective in improving their drawing skills. We will also delve into highlights and shading, and use various pencils and other mediums to enhance the drawing experience as well. Come and see that your drawing can improve tremendously with practice and the right techniques!

**I will be sending out a material list prior to our lessons.
Each student is different and unique so classes will be adjusted to each of you.
The following is a guideline for us.
We will begin the class with an introduction to the subject matter where I will demonstrate my process and thought into the drawing. After this useful introduction, you will be the one drawing and learning! I will be there through the process guiding you.
First, we will focus on studying how to draw what you see. We will work on perception through geometric shapes. After a few months with life still models and objects, we will start on figures and portraits.
Our training together will focus on:
-Understanding drawing tools and materials.
-Approaching the drawing with simple geometric shapes.
-Acquisition and development of reflective habits and representative skills.
-Develop the capacity for immediate acquisition (notes and sketches).
-Initiate tonal and chiaroscuro assessment studies.

Drawing is essential to becoming a skilled artist. Careful observation, practicing dividing light and dark, hand-eye-pencil coordination, and learning basic shapes and forms will all vastly improve the more information you soak in. How many times have we heard someone say "I couldn't draw a stick figure." Well, it's just not true that those of us who were not born with innate talent can never make works of art of the highest quality. It just takes time and work. The more information we acquire, the brighter the light bulb will go off in our heads.
I've created a 20 minute lesson option so that our first meeting we can chat about your existing supplies and work area. For lessons after our initial meeting, and after you have acquired the necessary materials, then we'll need a full hour for demos, exercises, and art history.
Hello friends! Well,... it's a surprise that I'm writing this introduction at all to be honest. I had been traveling since last July and working on my yt channel called 'An Easel Abroad', when this crazy pandemic swept the world and forced me back home to New York City. The good news is that
