The Recital was fabulous- thanks for all your work.
Goals: Since I am also a Life Coach, we really focus on how to accomplish our hopes and desires. We begin by weekly, then monthly and even a yearly goal.
Each week we also focus on something in my STUDENT PAL - mnemonic. Another is TECHNIQUE. Technique is the ability to have proper position, wrist-lifts and finger curve as well as Theoretic knowledge and application.
I started giving out lickable gold stars, you know, the old-fashioned kind? They are for those students who mark their lesson sheet and come prepared... They really seem to enjoy that, and I adore the nostalgia!
It is a great week when students are nearly all prepared and ready for their lessons. This makes both Coach and student more effective and the time together more enjoyable.

I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven. I have since taught the students of former students! How fun is that?
Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Teaching at the Young Artists Conservatory of Music; Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years has been a delight.
I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons, which we revisit monthly. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them/you to accomplish the goals set, working with music that delights and educates.
You want the best teacher, who offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's own "voice" (whether playing or singing) so that they can be free to create their own style.

In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano can learn how to create and write their own music in time, choose their own pieces to work on, and have a say in their classical and performance goals.
We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills, complete with awards and trophies.
What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
Learning the piano ought to be a JOY. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.
*** Travel Equipment ***
No travel.
*** Specialties ***
Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I can easily adapt to your favourite if that is your desire. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.

About Deron
I am a San Diego native and have shown my paintings extensively throughout San Diego. It wasn't until several years after I graduated from UCLA in 1994 with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, that I really tried to show my work in galleries. Most recently, my work has been in shows at Project X Gallery, The Museum of the Living Artist, The San Diego Art Department, Sanctuary Gallery, Limbo Fine Arts, and Sushi Gallery. I have just started to show in other cities, most recently at the Rialto Theater in Corpus Christi, Texas and The Nico Gallery in Seattle, Washington.
Along with my painting career, I have created children’s book and magazine illustrations, done graphic design work, and taught others how to express themselves creatively through art. I have been creating curricula for children’s art programs and teaching them. I also have been te

aching adults how to paint at the San Diego Art Department for the past 10 years and, in the past two years, with Painting &Vino.
Through my decade of teaching painting, I have honed a teaching style that encourages students to balance creativity and imagination with technique and skill. I strive to help students discover a process in which they are able to express themselves creatively while also teaching paint application techniques, color theory and the Elements and Principles of design. I am often in front of 50+ people at a time presenting my painting techniques within a limited amount of time.
I look forward to coaching you whether you're someone who hasn't painted since you were a kid or you're a seasoned painter who just needs a little help, encouragement or direction.

About Sondra S.
CloseAbout Sondra
Hello future student :) My name is Sondra and I would love to help you achieve your painting goals. I have a wide range of skills, from abstraction to realism and many hues in between. I received my Bachelor's in Fine Arts from The Oregon College of Art and Craft, a school that gave me background in modern, conceptual art. I also learned and revered techniques from the old Masters, such as Rembrandt, who have a classic, timeless perspective on painting. I've heard it said that it takes 10,000 hours to become a pro, which is why I give my students a painting assignment from our very first lesson. I will get you started wherever you are in your level of experience. I'll help you learn to paint what you're looking at as well as develop your own sense of style when painting expressively. I have a great eye for color and mixing and my students
have felt this was a particular advantage of learning from me. I'd love to meet you and help you on your painting journey. So sign up with me today!

About Mariana
I am a professional artist. I've been studying representative fine art at the Art Students League of New York since 2013.
My students can expect to improve week to week in their drawing and painting techniques. While gaining knowledge of the fundamental principles of perception—light, plane-structure, tonal value, perspective, proportion—students will learn to construct images that realistically and accurately interpret objects in space. This solid foundation will enable students to express their personal creative vocabulary more clearly and effectively.
I teach students of all different ages and experience levels.
My personal passion is realism in classical and contemporary art but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better artist!

I'm an artist, musician, and language aficionada. I have a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Georgia, graduating with honors as a Magna Cum Laude in Spanish and French Linguistics. I am fluent in both languages. One thing I love about teaching is bringing the arts into the process of learning. We may sing in the language and even paint to help learn. I've taught younger than Kindergarten all the way to adults, so feel comfortable that you'll grow in your conversational skills, as well as, beginner vocabulary. Let me highlight that I'm passionate about "phonetics," which is the study and classification of speech sounds. In other words, you are going to learn how to sound like a native speaker when you take my class.

covered. Art and music can allow you to make a joyful memory, which takes the fleeting moment into the longterm part of your brain, causing you to remember more and put it into what you call "muscle memory" all because you're happy!
Speaking of the arts, I play guitar, ukulele, charango, piano, and I sing! I've been a musician since 2000, and I've successfully turned a hobby into something my husband and I have been doing full time for several years. For beginners, something that works best is taking a song that you LOVE and turning it into your anthem on the instrument of your choice. So pick your song and message me!
Last but not least, I'm a painter. Painting is my favorite part of any day. About my childhood, I can candidly say I had the best stepmom. She would let me take her enormous canvases, oil paints, and brushes and just let me at it. Of course at first they were all of my hand prints and rainbows, but she got me curious, and eventually we started going to museums. I've seen Vangogh, Monet, Divinci, Picasso, and many more as they toured through our city. I began to study their techniques and grow my gift. My "Mama Sue" gifted me a hunger for creativity and excellence, and I can't thank her enough. Painting with me, you will grow in your technique, skill, and confidence, and pick up a little artist history along the way.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you accomplish your dreams!
