Teaching since:

I am a New York based vocalist, composer, pianist and educator who is passionate about teaching and believes in sharing my joy for music with students of all ages.

Originally from the Netherlands, now based in Brooklyn Nyc, I work as a vocalist, pianist, composer and educator. I work a lot with jazz, but have heart for all styles of music. As for students, all ages and levels are welcome. Besides having a degree in vocal performance from Berklee College of music, I also have a degree in Choir Directing, and a master in Clinical Psychology.

I've been teaching private piano and voice lessons all over Europe for the last 15 years. The last 5 years I've also been teaching songwriting, improvisation and mindfull improvisation workshops at the University of Leiden (Netherlands) as well as at Berklee College of music in Boston (USA).

As a vocalist I've worked all over the world with renowned jazz artists such as Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci and Joanne Brackeen and shared the stage with both national and international Jazz icons such as Lee Konitz, Kenny Werner, Joe Cohn and Florian Weber. I've been residing in New York City since 2015 where I played great venues like the Blue Note Jazz Club. Currently I am working on my third album.

Vivienne is a very knowledgeable teacher and she helped me a lot with breathing techniques. I was astounded how effectively she could teach this through the computer. Thanks vivienne!

Just starting our 6 year old on piano lessons and Vivienne is incredibly patient and professional. Even after 4 lessons the basic fundamentals of reading music and becoming comfortable with the keys are apparent when he practices at home. Her home studio is super close to the subway station and there's a great playground right across the street for when you arrive early or afterwards. We plan on continuing his learning with Vivienne, she's fantastic!

Vivienne is amazing and really knows her stuff. She makes you feel comfortable and really puts a lot of attention into the homework she gives while you are outside of class.
