I have few lessons with Keith so far. Keith is a very patient and flexible teacher. He customizes lesson plan accordingly to my level and needs. I have learned a lot in short amount of time. Thank you!

He is the best! It’s been 3 weeks and I’m singing everywhere I go!

Keith is very knowledgeable, patient and methodical. By letting me play a few notes and asking a few questions, he already knew where I should start and had the whole study plan figured out. His lessons are very productive but not in an overwhelming way. After two classes, I actually already feel I've improved significantly. I'm getting more and more comfortable playing to musical notes, which I tried to teach myself several times but all failed. I finally feel I'm on the right track!

As I said in my profile, I play all styles and so I teach all styles. This is an important point as many teachers only teach classical and if you want to learn a song by Sam Smith, the Beatles or perhaps something from "Frozen", they'll say 'buy the sheet music'. I teach music theory (after the fundamentals of music are learned) and if the student desires, he or she can learn how to improvise. This does not mean jazz necessarily, but learning to elaborate on a dull sheet music arrangement.

I live in a private community in Clifton. N.J. David has performed for us on occasion at our clubhouse. I would consider him a master at the piano . He played a variety of music for us and it was received and enjoyed by all. He has a wonderful personality and patience as well which combined would make a wonderful teacher.

Our girls really enjoy their lessons with Mr. David. He is very patient and encouraging. They always come back very happy and excited to go for more lessons. You will not regret. He is really one of the best. My oldest one who has been with two other teachers before and can play well, says she is finally understanding some concepts that she had trouble with in the past. She is finally getting it with Mr. David. Our youngest one is progressing so fast....today was only their third lesson. So happy to have found him...and yes, we went by the reviews..all were so true about him. Thank you, Mr. David.

My teaching style is based on making the student feel comfortable. If a student is not at ease, they will not be able to sing properly. I work with beginner students as well as more advanced students, but I treat all students with the same level of respect and patience regardless of their ability. My methods include warm-ups that help teach breath support and vocal placement to stretch vocal range and ease vocal tension that can then be applied to songs. I also help students learn breathing techniques and coping mechanisms to help them deal with performance anxiety.

I am a great communicator of what you need to start singing better immediately. Sensing what’s happening inside your Voice and body as you sing is an inmate specialty of mine. As I share that ability with you during our lessons, you will understand immediately how to correct any singing problems you may have. Your results, as others, will be instantaneous dramatic improvements for your singing voice.

The virtue of patience has been gifted to me and it’s easy for me to nurture your voice, no matter how young or old, to achieve fine vocal skills, great stage presence and a solid confidence to boost.

As long as you practice, you will see weekly improvements. With your consistency in attending your lessons, you will reach your singing goals like so many of my other students.

I look forward to working with you and seeing you (and others that hear you) be amazed at your singing progress!

"Solid Groove

I started taking lessons from Keith after a long hiatus from playing the drums. At first my goal was to dust off the cobwebs and get back into playing as a hobby, but after a few months of studying with Keith, he inspired me to work towards gigging with a band. During my first few lessons, Keith evaluated my skill level and together we developed a program that built upon my current knowledge and then challenged me with new ideas and concepts. His positive feedback and enthusiasm eventually gave me the confidence to begin auditioning with bands and start earning money at paying gigs. Keith also provided valuable information from his extensive professional experience that helped me prepare for unplanned mishaps that can occur when gigging, such as knowing what to pack in an emergency tool kit and how to handle equipment failure without losing your cool. However, I have to say that the most important lesson I learned was how to lay down a solid groove and above all have fun."

"I've been taking Piano lessons from Michael for about 5 months. I am an adult and took years of piano as a kid. I decided to take lessons again when we bought a baby grand from a garage sale. I searched for a teacher that would be fun! This time I wanted to learn pop songs with chords; music that I enjoy. It has been so much fun but I'm also learning about music theory in a way that I really understand. Michael is patient, funny, and very talented. I tell him what song I want to learn and he picks it out by ear, writes it down, then helps me figure out the best way to play it. He has written a great book that breaks down all the chords so it is easy to learn and remember. I'm having a great time and keeping the cobwebs from forming in my brain!"

What Does it Mean if a Singer is Classically Trained?

What do you think of when you see the words "classical singing?" Perhaps opera comes to mind? Here, vocal instructor Molly R. explains what being classically trained really means and how it can be applied to any genre of singing...   Suppose you’re a rock or pop singer looking for a voice teacher -- while some teachers may stress that they're all about rocking or teaching a certain vocal method in their bios, many of them mention being classically trained. With that said, what …
