Teaching since:

I am a professional bassist and music educator. I graduated from New Mexico State University with a Bachelors of Music Education, specifically instrumental. I'm currently working on a Master of Music Education.

Electric bass students can expect to not only develop a solid foundation in both technique and music theory but also understand how it applies to playing the songs in which they are interested! Every student possesses a unique hand size/finger length combination; I focus on helping every student navigate the fingerboard with a relaxed, tension-free, fluid approach.

I teach bass students in a wide range of ages and experience levels. Fretted or fretless. Four, five, or six strings. Slap, fingerstyle, picked, and other techniques. I can help you improve whether you want to jam with your friends in a garage band, play bass in your local church, or become a pro/semi-pro bassist!

A unique part of my teaching is that I work with students to develop a customizable practice routine that works with their schedule. Life is busy, and not everyone can practice every single day. I develop routines to help students get the most out of the time they have.

My personal passion is Latin jazz, but possessing and developing great technique is essential to any style you want to play. I look forward to meeting you and helping you along your musical journey!
