- Teaches students:
- Ages 10 to 18
- Teaching since:
When I was first handed my oboe at the young age of 11, I was so intrigued and excited to take my first steps into the world of music. It is my focus to provide future students with this same experience and cultivate a love for music.
While in high school, I studied under Jeff McKechnie of Eastman School of Music and Amy Collins of the University of South Florida. While attending Florida State University, I have studied under Dr. Eric Ohlsson and a number of teaching assistants. Dr. Ohlsson studied under John Mack, an incredibly reputable oboist in the United States.
It is with this palate of training that has provided me the opportunity to pursue my passion and gain a high skill level as an oboist. Employing this skill and passing down the knowledge I have learned from the great teachers before me is my primary goal.
I am able to teach students from older elementary-school age to high school-age. Each lesson sequence will be tailored to the student and their experience and goals with the instrument. Providing an enjoyable and approachable learning experience is of utmost importance when teaching oboe lessons.
