Shishi Zhou is a violinist graduated from the New England Conservatory with a Master’s degree. She also completed a Bachelor's degree from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Shishi first started playing the violin at age four and attended the music school affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory at age thirteen. During her trainings in China, She won the Gold Medal prize of Eastern Young Star Violin Competition and was awarded first place in Bode Cup Chamber Music Competition with her piano trio. In 2008, she began to study abroad at Idyllwild Arts Academy. In 2010, She began her undergraduate at BOCO while served as concertmistress in conservatory orchestras. Her chamber group, the Nebula String Quartet, was named 2013 BOCO Honors Chamber Ensemble. In 2014, Shishi won the first prize in BOCO String Department Honors Solo Competition. During her graduate studies at NEC, Shishi further developed interests in community engagement and engaged in music education in public schools and beyond.
