Guitar with Sean M.

Sean McGurl is a bassist/guitarist living in New York City. He recently finished up his degree at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music where he studied guitar and electric bass performance. Sean enjoys an eclectic mix of music, however, he has recently immersed himself in the experimental/ independent rock scene, performing primarily in Brooklyn. Considering himself a “band guy,” Sean thrives off the long-term collaboration and camaraderie that accompanies playing and with the same group of musicians over a long period of time. He plays bass in both the 7-piece horn driven rock band Civilians (http://www.civiliansband.nyc/) and the experimental math rock trio Wamena. Sean is also one of the founders of a recording studio and creative space located in Brooklyn. This space has fostered a collective of musicians and bands that Sean credits with the majority of his musical growth.
