My name is Sean. I started playing clarinet at 12 years old, and I have loved it and making music ever since. Through the years I have loved playing in my schools band programs, auditioning for region and all-state bands, participating in solo and ensemble competitions, and attending summer and winter music camps.
I was fortunate enough to attend the South Carolina Governor' School for the Arts during my senior year of High School , which really helped me develop my clarinet playing abilities. This led to me auditioning for and getting into the Music program at UNCG, where I studied with Dr. Ed Riley and Dr. Anthony Taylor during my Bachelors degree. While at UNCG I was a member of the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra, as well as multiple small chamber groups of multiple configurations, including the Freshman Honors Wind Quintet.
After graduating with my Bachelor's in Music, I moved to San Diego, CA, where I studied with Sheryl Renk, the principal clarinetist of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra.
Returning to Greensboro, I started back at UNCG working on a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance, completing the degree in May of 2017. During these 2 years back at UNCG I studied with Dr. Kelly Burke and Dr. Taylor again. I was fortunate enough to go on a European Music Tour with the Wind Ensemble in 2016 and I completed 2 solo Clarinet recitals.
I currently work in the IT field and would love to be able to teach clarinet music lessons part time, as I really miss being a part of music making full time.
