I have been playing the drums even before I could create coherent sentences. I come from a long line of percussionists and have been playing for over 18 years. As a professional drummer, I have played small lounge gigs and have played at big festivals as well. I have a very extensive understanding of all the styles of music ie Rock, reggae, jazz, R&B, gospel, Latin, etc. You name it; I've played it! I am an experienced teacher and i have even helped some of my students to land paying gigs as well. I am committed to the musical growth of all of my students and believe in their ability to be great drummers. Don't wait to start your drumming journey!

I love singing and I love teaching! I encourage my students to be open and honest with me about what they want in lessons so we can always be on the same page. I make my lessons unique by giving my students the chance to learn technique and learn all the fun things that they have always wanted to sing! My students learn the proper techniques and mechanics of singing (breath support, posture, anatomy of the voice, etc.) singing multiple genres of music (classical, musical theater, jazz, etc.), performing in front of others, how to walk into an audition, and more. My students are given pieces to hone in and focus on one or more technical skill, and two which they choose whether it be something they have always wanted to learn, something they consider for fun, or something they want to use to build their repertoire.

About Aliya

My name is Aliya Elisabeth and I am so excited to meet you and begin a musical journey together! Music Theory can be a daunting subject for some, so I strive to break down major concepts to be easily digestible and make it fun! My goal is always to make sure the student's foundational knowledge is strong, so that they can continue to grow well beyond our tutoring on their own. I teach both classical theory and jazz theory. I am happy to help with college/AP work and students who are on a more rigid curriculum, as well as students who just want to expand upon what they already know. I incorporate ear training, transcription, and arranging into my lessons for a diverse and immersive experience.

About Taylor

An artist with incredibly diverse taste, Taylor’s musical training is rooted in classical music, though she has had training and performance experience in a multitude of musical genres. She has done work with artists ranging from Juanes to Barry Manilow. Taylor is a Downbeat award-winning artist, h

Taylor is absolutely incredible. I've been taking voice lessons from her since I was a freshman in high school, and she has never failed to amaze me, Her passion and dedication to the arts and to her students know no boundaries. She pushes each of her students to grow and develop their talent with precision. She is an incredibly talented vocalist with a background in many genres. I have had such an amazing time being taught by her.

Taylor's the best! She is kind, patient, and very thorough. I've been taking music lessons with Taylor for about 2 years and she has really helped shape my musicality and develop musicianship skills. She has helped me with piano, voice, and music theory and always makes sure I am comfortable and understand the content. She teaches in a way that is enjoyable and easy to understand. Never a dull moment!

"Very Comprehensive

So after my first lesson with Rob I have to say it left a pretty good impression on me. Pretty good vibes coming from him and he makes the material relatively easy to understand. He takes the time to really assess what it is you're aiming for and doesn't try to impose his own values into your musical style. All in all I feel that this is going to be a great teacher student relationship and I'm looking forward to really delving into mastering my guitar with him."

5 Stereotypes Lead Singers Face (& How to Overcome Them)

Do you sing with a band? If so, you may have been wrongfully accused of one of the many stereotypes lead singers face -- even if you're always on your best behavior! Here, St. Augustine, FL voice teacher Heather L. shares her tips for proving them wrong...   I'm the lead singer -- uh, make that the only singer -- of two bands, an acoustic duo and a guitar/drum/piano/mandolin group. And as much fun as I have in each rehearsal, and as well as I get along with my bandmates, being a lead si …
