I live in Brooklyn, New York, and perform all over New York City and the surrounding region. Currently, I play predominantly musical theater and jazz gigs, some of the shows I've performed include Legally Blonde, Urinetown, Hairspray, and The Boy Friend.
I have a Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University in Music Performance and a double major Master of Music degree in Double Bass Performance and Music History & Literatures from Baylor University. Following graduate school, I completed a year of intensive study at the International Rabbath Institute Paris with François Rabbath. In Paris, I actively performed in recitals at the Cité Universitaire and around the city as a soloist and in the jazz sphere.
My teachers and mentors include: François Rabbath, Sandor Ostlund, Samuel Cross, Joseph Fischer, and Adam Hopkins.
In my free time, I love traveling, running as far as I can, reading all things historical, eating my way around the world with my friends, and spending time at Bethany Beach with my family and our dog, Stella.
Performing in ensembles such as:
Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra, VA
Dali String Quartet, PA
Solid State Jazz Ensemble, TX
Blue Hill Troupe Theatre, NYC
I have known Sarah for almost a decade - we both studied double bass and performed in ensembles together at James Madison University for four years.
I can attest to the fact that she is both extremely knowledgeable in her technical skills as a bass player and a phenomenal person to work with and learn from. She is ambitious, creative, and passionate about what she does. As a colleague and personal friend, I would highly recommend taking lessons with Sarah!
