Piano with Samantha B.

Samantha is a flutist, vocalist and teaching artist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from Cornish College of the Arts. During her time at Cornish, Samantha focused her studies on contemporary music and chamber ensemble performance. Samantha began playing the piano when she was 5 years old. Shortly thereafter she joined her school's choir and then at age 10, she picked up the flute. Growing up, Samantha could always be found in rehearsal for school pit orchestras, Bel Canto Girls Choir, and the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony. In her studio Samantha teaches flute, piano, ear training and music theory. In addition to teaching in her studio, Samantha works with community organizations to develop workshops and residencies and is a Teaching Artist with the Seattle Symphony, where she teaches workshops and residencies ranging from instrument making to Carnegie Hall's Link Up program. *** Travel Equipment ** If I am traveling to your home, students must have a quiet room in which to teach the lesson, equipped with chairs, and required instrument. A piano or keyboard is needed for ear training and music theory, and a flute in working condition and a music stand are needed for flute lessons.
