    Learn the acoustic guitar with ease from an experienced teacher of 20 years

    Experienced guitar teacher of several years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of music and theory skills. I specialize in classical guitar; however, my lessons are also very good to beginners of acoustic guitar. I typically use many guitar books so you do not get bored with the same tunes. You will develope your technique to play very comfortable your preferred musical style.

    Hello! My name is Roberto. I've been teaching private lessons since around 2001 and I love helping my students improve their technique, win prizes at competitions, and enjoy playing the guitar. I teach guitar, musical theory, solfege at all levels, from beginners to college. I did my Undergrad in Mexico and then went to Hunter College/CUNY to earn a degree in Master of Arts in Music Performance in 2019. Now, I have been admitted to a doctoral DMA at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. I'm a warm and positive person and I have a personal, fun, and encouraging teaching style. I can teach both in English and in Spanish. I look forward to help you achieve your goals and reach your potential!

    Roberto is very helpful with my preparation for NYS Solo Festival, he has shown me better technique that is useful to me as I had picked up many bad habits before I started taking lessons from him. His teaching style is fun and not intimidating. Every week I am excited to see what new things I will learn in the lesson.

    I had the good fortune of having Roberto as my Traditional Harmony and Counterpoint teacher when going for my Music Degree in Mexico City. I can tell you his class was one of a kind and he turned a couple of the most complicated subjects of music into something very enjoyable. He's a strict teacher, but he values hard work dearly and he was always available for a student seeking help.
