Hi, my name is Reggie, and I’ve enjoyed teaching beginning, to advanced guitar students for over 30 years. My years as a teacher, and working musician, can provide a student, of any level, the foundation he or she needs to improve their guitar playing.
Having grown up outside of Los Angeles Ca, I had the opportunity to play music in many styles. From Top 40/Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Country. I also filled the guitar chair with one of the top rated college jazz ensembles in Southern California (Chaffey College). Roadside honky tonks, country clubs, weddings, and hotel/resort engagements. I bring that experience to my lessons.
For 19 years, I was on the staff of NGW (National Guitar Workshop), a summer guitar program. At NGW, I taught classes, in Beginning Rock Guitar, and conducted a blues seminar called Blues Chops. These workshops, and seminars were taught at universities, and colleges across the US including Redlands Ca, Claremont Ca. San Francisco, Austin Tx, Chicago, Nashville Tn, and Connecticut.
I have been a student of Reggie's for several years now, he is extremely knowledgeable and versed in many styles...we focus on everything from blues, to rock, jazz, country, metal, you name it! We learn sight-reading, theory, ear training...etc. Working on learning every aspect of the instrument is our goal. He is a great teacher and a great guy, I highly recommend anyone of any skill level, you will surely learn something from Reg! You can't go wrong with a guy like Reggie as a teacher!+ Read More
My lessons with Reggie have been great. He knows the theory and how to introduce it to a student in digestible pieces. My lessons with Reggie are online and (while I was skeptical about online lessons at first) I have been very impressed by our interactions. He makes the online experience feel very personal. Reggie also put together some great videos for me that I'm able to watch and learn from at my leisure.
He is a great teacher and is very easy to get along with. I highly recommend.
Reggie taught me everything I know as a guitarist! He is patient, collaborative, and good with words! He also practices his own music and keeps looking to improve his skill. I was blessed to have Reggie as my guitar instructor for 8 years!
I came across Reggie almost 8 years ago researching a guitar instructor for my then 13 year old son. Since then I have taken lessons and so has my younger son. Not only is Reggie a great instructor with a vast love and knowledge of music but he is patient, reliable and kind. Over the years he has become a friend to my both my sons and myself. Reggie is +A!+ Read More
I started taking guitar lessons from Reggie in the spring of 2011, shortly after I retired. I had never played guitar before, but played the clarinet in grade school. Reggie was enormously helpful and full of encouragement as I struggled to learn how to play the acoustic guitar. He is a very patient teacher! And I am continually impressed with his vast knowledge of classic songs, artists, bands, concerts, and history of music. Under his faithful guidance, I have added several electric guitars, amps, pedals, etc. and have enjoyed all of them. I have even played in a number of backyard gigs with friends at parties - all thanks to Reggie who has taught me more than guitar over these past 7 years. I continue to take lessons with Reggie every week and look forward to them .+ Read More
I have been taking lessons with Reggie since 2014. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him and found him to be a very skilled teacher with great patience and a broad knowledge and experience across multiple music genres. He willingly explains and demonstrates the theory and practice of guitar playing and adjusts his approach to the particular students strengths and weaknesses. I heartily recommend him to any one wanting to learn guitar!+ Read More
