    Experience

    Band Leader, Guitarist

    Jan, 2011 - Present

    The Ori Naftaly Band

The Ori Naftaly Band From Israel, by way of Memphis, TN, Ori Naftaly stirs up a funky, soulful, rock n' roll stew, built on a solid foundation of the blues. The fiery, 27 year-old, guitarist has fast made a name for himself as one of the most versatile and dynamic blues soloists today. Together, with Tierinii Jackson as Ori Naftaly Band's lead singer, Naftaly is on a pace to make 2015 his most productive year yet. Since forming his band in 2012, Naftaly has continually received international accolades from the global blues community. His critically acclaimed debut album, A True Friend (Is Hard To Find), was released in 2012 and featured six different vocalists. Bluesmagazine.nl, one of the leading blues magazines in Europe, named it 'Best Blues Album Of 2012,' placing the relative newcomer in the same realm as some of the most well known blues-rock artists in the world. A jam-packed 2013 saw his band win that year's Israeli Blues Challenge Competition, become the first Israeli band to reach the Semi-Finals of the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, TN in the history of the event, tour the US and Holland twice AND record and release a second album, Happy For Good. The record shows Naftaly beginning to flex his musical muscle, leading the band with cool control as they stretch the blues into its stepchildren: funk, rock and soul. Just one month after its release, it reached number four on the International Blues Radio Chart, and stayed in the Top 5 for an impressive eight straight weeks. Fueled by his experiences in the US, Naftaly relocated to Memphis in late 2013 to begin taking his career to the next level. On his arrival, he immediately enlisted a new core of all Memphians to join him and since then has taken the US by storm, with over 200 shows in over 40 states, including headlining appearances at some of the most well-regarded blues festivals in the country, and sharing the stage with some of the best acts in the business such as Tab Benoit, Ana Popovic, Bernard Allison, Shemekia Copeland, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Ron Holloway, Marcia Ball and many more.
