Cant say enough good things about Joel. He doesnt get frustrated when I don't grasp a concept he breaks it down to where I can understand and work through it. Works to play what I'm interested and what I really want to play. I thought going to learn an instrument at 27 would be rough but it has been fun and enjoyable.

I can teach beginning guitar students how to play their favorite songs. Also, how to read tabs and chord charts. Advanced students can learn theory and jazz improvisation. I can help students who have been using a capo learn how to play bar chords so you will no longer need a capo.
Guitar students should be at least nine years old.
I do not teach finger picking style.

About John

I have been teaching young people and adults how to play musical instruments for over 20 years. A lot of my students are well on their way to a rewarding future with music, some as professionals and others as hobbyists. I've been teaching guitar for the past thirteen years, and I've worked with all kinds of students. From children, to teenagers, to adults, everyone who I've had the pleasure to sit down with has told me what they want to get out of the guitar, and I've made it my responsibility to help them reach their goal. Within the first few lessons, every student develops a new perspective, and approaches the guitar with the clarity and confidence to grow as a musician at a pace comfortable for them.

About Dave

Hi, my name is Dave, and I've been teaching guitar & bass for almost 15 years. Working as a professional musician, I've made the time to teach students of all ages. Teaching has been my passion alongside performing since I first picked up an instrument, and I look forward to meeting and working wit

As highly as Dave's previous reviews spoke of him, he still managed to exceed any expectations I had. He was calm, reassuring, and it was immediately apparent just how comfortable he is teaching small children. Dave managed to hold the attention of my 5 year old for the entire lesson, and left my son excited about learning and confident that he can do it! I feel very fortunate to have found such a great teacher for my child.

Our daughter Sarah has been taking piano lessons with Sean for 5 years, both in person and now by Zoom. Sean is a wonderful teacher, firm and focused, yet kind and encouraging. A lot gets accomplished in each lesson and Sarah has advanced steadily over time. She looks forward to her lesson each week. We would recommend Sean to anyone looking for a piano teacher for their child.

"Super talented, yet super down to earth. Great teacher and ridiculously knowledgeable, yet super funny. I had been a self taught bass player for years before taking Charles' course at NYU and was hoping to try out a new instrument and learn it the "right way" through lessons, expecting things to be very academic. But Charles works in a way that is surprisingly individual-based, and so that while you do learn a lot, you do so at your own pace and having fun along the way. By blending your own formal course goals with his own knowledge and incredible feel for the instrument alongside the songs you want to learn (often times you learn them together- he is great at picking up new, unfamiliar tunes by ear) it creates an experience that keeps you picking up the guitar long after you leave the classroom. Where I am now with guitar and where I started at first are miles and miles apart thanks to him, and he's just a super chill guy who likes playing guitar. Who also happens to be ridiculously qualified. 10/10 would recommend."
