My goal is to help my students fall in love with the music and the craft, so they can practice and learn about music from a place of enjoyment and love, while still teaching them all the proper technical and theoretical aspects. I can teach jazz music, classical music, pop/rock/soul repertoire, technique, ear training, harmony, theory, improvisation, and composing. With more advanced students I go over the piano as in instrument of self expression, group dynamics, listening, and more advanced concepts such as shape theory and advanced improvisation or classical pieces. I started off as a concert pianist before transitioning to jazz at the age of 15. By the time I was 18 I got to play as an opening act for Fernando Otero, a Grammy winning pianist, played in the All-star Jazz Band in the Berklee Five Week Program, performed twice in the Jerusalem Harmony Jazz Festival and won the Israel's “outstanding musician” competition. I graduated with the honor of Summa Cum Laude from the Berklee College of Music, which I attended on a 75% scholarship. During my time in Berklee, I was awarded Dean’s List for 6 different semesters, had attended the ensemble led by Terence Blanchard, and had played at Wally’s Jazz Club twice a week for over a year. I also performed in other Boston clubs such as the Lilypad, and NYC venues such as Wilson Live and Bar Bayeux. During 2013-2016 I toured in Europe and North America, played in the Red Sea Jazz Festival twice and in the Jerusalem Jazz Festival once. I played in Israel's biggest ceremonies such as the Knesset Holocaust Memorial Ceremony, and the reception for the US Secretary of Defense and Chief of Staff. I play piano in the modern jazz band “Friendy”, who are signed to the label “GSI Records” run by world renowned drummer Eric Harland. Since releasing their debut album, “Friendy Fire”, Friendy have had 4 tracks featured on official jazz playlists for Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube Music, getting over 130000 collective streams. Friendy were also featured as the cover of the YouTube Music “Jazz Impressions” playlist. I have been teaching music since 2013, and have worked with private students from the ages of 4-50. I have taught both beginners and advanced college-level students, as well as whole classes in elementary and high school. I have also directed ensembles which consisted of musicians from the ages of 12-20.

I’ve been taking lessons with Noam over the past year and can wholeheartedly recommend his teaching! As an adult beginner, I was pretty apprehensive about starting to learn an instrument but Noam really worked with me to learn at a level i was comfortable with, and also pushed me to explore things I hadn’t expected, like improvisation. Take lessons with him!
