I believe that singing should be fun and that as long as you have a strong foundation, your goals are within reach. I use my extensive classical training to help my students form healthy singing habits that they can apply to any genre of music. These are the building blocks to be able to sing anything!

I started my vocal training at the ripe ole' age of 5, because I was convinced that my destiny was to become a famous singer, and my mother (also a music teacher) told me that I needed to take singing lessons to make my dream come true. Though I didn't believe her at the time, she was right! Studying voice has been the most valuable factor in my career as a singer, and it's my mission to share my knowledge and expertise with other aspiring singers.

My experience as a teacher and a professional singer/actress has been extensive and diverse. I have done everything from radio jingles to singing in rock bands to starring in operas. My experience teaching has spanned over several years and includes working closely with high school musical theatre programs, audition prep, and consulting for vocalists in successful San Diego rock bands to build up healthy singing habits.

Additionally, I have been working at TakeLessons headquarters in Downtown San Diego for about 2.5 years, working with and advising teachers all over the country.

Perhaps you've been singing for a while and need some extra help fine-tuning your skills. Maybe you're a complete beginner who has never taken formal voice lessons. No matter what your level, I'll work with you at your own pace. We'll start off by talking through your goals for your voice and what you want to achieve from taking lessons. We will build up healthy vocal techniques and then apply what you learned to the music you love.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons take place at my home studio in PB in a designated music room. I have a digital piano, computer and recording software, and there is seating for parents if applicable. Parking is available on the street. I have a cat, and he stays out of the music room during the lesson.

Excellent audition preparation

I felt more confident, and able to sing w/ ease. Monet easily helps me understand how to be more expressive, and works w/ me on fundamentals, as well. She made it easy to record my lesson on my phone so that I could listen back. I have studied w/ a variety of teachers, and it's rare to walk away from a lesson feeling empowered!
