About Mel P.

I have tons of experience and formal university training in music education. I have taught music in public, private and parochial schools through the years. But I have focused on private lessons mostly with my own business. I know how to take the complex and make it simple and fun! There are very good reasons my students rise to the top. Experience makes a difference, and I have more professional teaching experience than 99% of other instructors. Learning the best way, helps you learn faster and have fun while you succeed!

Mel is a wonderful instructor, always look forward to working with him! I've worked through a few different instruments over the years, and had a solid music background before starting with Mel- he was really able to really pick up where I needed and move forward with new and exciting lessons. Would highly recommend!

Mel is an excellent teacher, violinist and communicator. He has the rare ability to combine the right balance of sharing his knowledge, playing by example and providing feedback in an easy to understand way. With his insightful guidance and enthusiasm for the student’s success, I look forward to every lesson and enjoy working with him.

I have been taking lessons from Mel for a little over a year now. Best teacher ever. Mel listens to what I want to do, and he teaches me how to do it. Mel teaches me how to practice. Each week, if I have a question about technique or accents, whatever, Mel will take the time to make certain I get the right answer. I could not be happier.
