Violin with Matt R.

Matt is a passionate performer, teacher, and student. In 2013, Matt made his debut solo appearance performing the 1st movement of the Bruch Violin Concerto with the Arapahoe Philharmonic and Highlands Ranch High School Chamber Orchestra. An avid orchestral violinist, Matt has performed with the Lamont Symphony Orchestra, the Lamont Opera Orchestra, the Littleton Symphony, and the Colorado Youth Symphony. He served as Concertmaster of the HRHS Chamber Orchestra and Assistant Concertmaster of the Continental League Orchestra. He was also selected to play in the Colorado All State Orchestra, Western States Honor Orchestra, and the University of Colorado Boulder Summer Academy Orchestra. He has performed in chamber ensembles through Lamont, Tri M Honor Society, and CU Summer Academy. Matt has coached chamber music with Mark Rush and Susan Cahill while performing a wide array of repertoire ranging from Bach and Glazunov to pop. Matt is a very passionate teacher and maintains a private studio. His students not only lead their respective school ensembles, but are also found sitting principal stand of youth orchestras, honor orchestras, and summer programs. Matt instills his students with a strong technical foundation, musical awareness, and most importantly, a rich passion for music. Awarded music scholarships by both the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of Denver, Matt is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. Matt studies with Mark Rush, a renowned pedagogue and student of Arthur Grumiaux. Matt has also studied with Elizabeth McKenna Greenberg and Nancy Allwein. In the future, Matt hopes to continue his graduate studies in violin and conducting at a conservatory.
