Hello students and parents!
I am professional drummer based in Austin, Texas. I have been studying the drum set for nearly two decades, including studying percussion at The Musicians Institute in California, as well as performing countless live engagements and studio sessions over the years, including national and international tours with a variety of artists. I have been teaching the drums to students since 2005.
I am well versed in a variety of musical styles, drumming techniques, and teaching methods. Over the years I have developed a system for quick and effective development on the drums. While I stick closely to this system, I also tailor the lessons to the individual. Each new student has their own goals and aspirations for their development on the instrument: whether you want to learn a specific style, technique, song, improve your chops or reading, I've got you covered! I love teaching and passing on this great tradition of drumming!
Thanks for checking out my profile, and I look forward to hearing from you!
*** Lesson Details ***
The lessons I offer consist of the combined knowledge I have complied over the 17+ years I have been playing the drums. The lessons take the most useful knowledge from traditional lessons/music school, and mix that with the real world working knowledge I have acquired as a professional musician. The mixture results in a very effective and smooth learning system that has been proven to produce great results for all of my students. These lessons are also custom fit to make sure that your goals are met.
I fully understand that everybody learns at a different pace, and I promise to offer a laid back approach and a comfortable environment for learning no matter what your skill level or experience level is, all while producing great results in your abilities on the instrument.
*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lessons are taught in a separate music room which includes 2 full drum sets, an array of hand percussion instruments, and a mixer/headphone system so both the students and myself can play along with songs and/or metronome. Comfortable seating is available for parents in a separate waiting room. Home includes 2 dogs which would be outside. Parking is available on the street or on left side of the driveway.
