    Want to practice Mindfulness and Meditation, but you don't know where to start? Or you tried before but you had a hard time sitting still?? Come practice with me! 日本語OK Mindful Art is art for self-care. You use art and different mediums to get in touch with yourself in a therapeutic and meditative way. Connect with your inner creativity, practice mindfulness, cultivate joy and express yourself to support your wellness and wellbeing. No art experience is needed. Available in English and Japanese. ⚫︎Agenda total 50 mins : (1) Check-ins, breathing exercise & affirmations 10 min (2) Art work 30 mins (3) Reflective writing 10 min When you book a lesson, please choose an art work that you like to learn and prepare art materials. Please also prepare a quiet room during the lesson. ⚫︎Art work : ① Draw your breath & body sensations ② Guided mediation for art creation ③ Draw to music ④ Color/shape scavenger hunt ⑤ Pinpoint the pattern ⑥ Mandala drawing & painting ⚫︎Art materials : - Copy paper (letter size) or sketchbook - Pencil & eraser - One or multiple supplies for adding colors & textures including colored pencils/ drawing pen / sharpie / crayons / markers / pastels In general, each art work is expected to support the these qualities though your experience is personal : Relaxation Concentration Focus New insight & deeper thoughts Self-compassion Self-regulation Self-awareness Self-trust Intuition

    About Makiko N.

    Hi, I am Makiko! I am from Japan. Moved to the states in my early 40's with my family in 2016. Now based in Bay Area, CA as a yoga instructor and Mindful Art facilitator. In this fast-paced, competitive and diverse environment, I myself find yoga, mindfulness as well as Mindful Art as great self-care tools you can use day to day to manage stress and emotions and also to cultivate self-love, trust and compassion. I would love to share these experiences to help support other people!! Lessons available both in English and Japanese.
