Hello, there! My name is Maggie, I specialize in classical double bass playing. I'm currently a musician in the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. I've been classically trained at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music for my bachelor's degree and Cleveland Institute of Music for my master's degree.
I'm a patient and understanding person and I am eager to spread the joy and love of playing the bass! I am knowledgable in different types of bass playing technique and I will tailor my teaching to each student depending on what resonates best with them. In addition to music appreciation, I value the importance of solidifying the fundamentals, technique, ear training, physical well-being, etc., in order to achieve ease in good and fun music playing! I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your goals!

Maggie is an incredible teacher! My daughter has been taking lessons with her for 3 months now and she has improved so much. My daughter is in high school and has been playing for a few years now. She wanted to be more serious so we started taking lessons with Maggie. She has so much fun every lesson and I can hear her improve every time she practices after a lesson. Maggie makes playing the bass so fun. My daughter is always so excited and I can’t wait to see where this will lead to next.

Maggie has expert knowledge about the double bass from studying with members of the best orchestras in the US. Her teaching lead me to achieve things on the instrument that I didn't know I could do. I highly recommend her as a teacher!
