As a professional singer, I perform throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. I have performed the roles of Galatea in My Fair Galatea with Pocket Opera, Antonia in Tales of Hoffman and Tytania with Westminster Opera Theater, and Esmeralda in The Bartered Bride at San Francisco State.
As a chorister, I have performed in locations such as Lesher Center in Walnut Creek, Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, the Kimmel Center of Philadelphia, and Carnegie Hall in New York City. I've worked with some of the top vocal coaches in the country through professional development programs and graduate studies, and received my Master of Music at Westminster Choir College. I currently teach preschool and elementary music in the Bay Area, and direct the choir at Coastside Lutheran Church in Half Moon Bay.
Voice lessons are a great way to improve your speaking and singing voice for the stage, the classroom, and personal enrichment! Music is a gift everyone can appreciate, and refining your singing skills gives you more understanding of music, poetry, languages, and yourself.
My teaching method gathers from and utilizes the techniques of classical Bel Canto singing, combined with holistic health, yoga, Alexander Technique, and acting methods to give you the most healthy and well-rounded approach to singing for performance. My understanding of voice science, learning styles, and child development helps me to structure each individual voice lesson for the student’s specific needs.
I teach private voice and piano lessons, direct choir, and sing professionally throughout the Bay Area. I hold my Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College, and my Bachelor of Music from San Francisco State University. I have had students perform in musical theater productions and choirs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including Pied Piper Players, San Francisco City Chorus, and the Peninsula Girl's Chorus.
These techniques can be transferred across most singing genres, I am willing to teach classical, opera, musical theater, pop, jazz, and country western styles of singing.
