I have been a teaching artist and director in San Diego for the past 5 years, working in the Oceanside Unified School District as well as with several professional theaters. While I have taught very basic acting classes, my passion is for teaching young adults who have made the decision to be actors. Middle school - college students will benefit most from my training. My private monologue and song coaching is perfect before a big audition, but I also offer educational courses covering multiple topics and techniques, with assigned material. I have been classically trained and am well versed in the works of William Shakespeare. Students wanting to improve classical techniques, and work with heightened language would be a good fit. I provide classes in text analysis, voice and diction, and Shakespearean scene study. In addition to my classical training, I have experience teaching contemporary theatre and acting techniques. I am a Meisner trained actor, and can assist actors looking to deepen their connection to text and characters, and become emotionally alive. I have studied acting extensively throughout San Diego county, as well as in New York and Atlanta. I have worked with teachers from all over the world, and have been exposed to many ideas and techniques related to acting and performance. Educational theatre has had such a positive impact on my life, both as an actor and a person.
