    About Kevin A.

    I'm Kevin Abbenante and I've been a lifelong resident of the Austin area. I've been playing and studying drums for over 28 years, and have been performing and touring professionally for the last 17 years. I have also been playing guitar and bass for a combined total of 13 years. Not only have I been performing for the past 17 years, but I have also been a session drummer on numerous studio albums and currently I perform and tour with Mariachi Rock Revolution. I earned my Associate Degree in Commercial Music Management from Austin Community College in 2012 and I've worked as a professional Audio Engineer and session drummer for the past 10 years, predominantly at 512 Studios with Omar Vallejo. I've also worked on several projects at Evenbreak Productions and Evil Snail Studios. During my time at 512 Studios, we were voted “Best Recording Studio” in Austin for the 2016, 2018 and 2019 Austin Chronicle Music Industry Awards. I have been a tracking engineer, mixing engineer, mastering engineer, producer and drummer on many different styles ranging from Rock, Metal, Country, Hip-Hop and Tejano. In addition, for the past 7 years, I've worked at School of Rock in Round Rock, Texas as a drums, bass, guitar, and performance program teacher. Presently, I am working with students of all ages and teaching music has become a passion of mine. I enjoy helping people discover the joy of learning music and the excitement someone accomplishes their musical goals.
