I have been teaching professionally in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Maine, and New Jersey for the past 5 years, and have been performing for the past 16 years. Using elements of Orff and Feierabend music learning theories, I have an emphasis on teaching music my students love while also improving physical technique to ensure musical improvement within two weeks of lessons! I believe becoming a musician is a joyful experience and one that will be a positive change in your life. I teach trombone, voice, and most other band instruments and specialize in music theory and composition skills through performance. My name is Keith Sisterhenm, and I am a vocalist, trombonist, composer, and music educator living in Brooklyn! Graduating from the Hartt School of Music in W. Hartford, CT with a Bachelor of Music degree, I have spent countless hours honing my skills and teaching methods in order to give my students the best musical experiences I can. My goal is to become as musically versatile as possible, and to pass that knowledge on to my students. I have performed classical, jazz, musical theater, Latin, rock, and other styles, and have written pop, classical, and even film music! Outside of being a musician, I love to travel, cook, watch movies/tv, play games, and have new adventures! Can't wait to work with all of you!
