    About Keenan P.

Music is a passion of mine that thrives when sharing it with others, so I get really excited at the opportunity to teach others what I've learned! As a bassist, guitarist, and singer, I've been playing professionally for over 10 years in and around Nashville, TN, and after graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2013, I've been giving one-on-one lessons to those eager to make music happen in their lives. I have experience in teaching all ages, from elementary school kids to working adults, from hobbyists to serious career-seekers. And I've taught them all with one major principle: It's all about the groove!

    Experience

    Music Instructor and music director

    Dec, 2014 - Present

    School of Rock

At School of Rock Franklin and Nashville, I give individual lessons in bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, keys, and voice, as well serve as music director for specific seasonal tribute performances consisting of the school's enrolled students. My students range from elementary school kids to graduating high school seniors, from beginners just becoming familiar with an instrument to players who are well on their way to being seasoned professionals. In the individual lessons, I teach a combination of rhythm exercises, ear training, and harmonic concepts as it applies to music that the student is really interested in. As a music director, I put together tribute shows themed either with a particular genre or a particular band in rock n' roll and popular history, and these shows consist of many of the students taking lessons at the school. I direct and help guide the students with rehearsals, learning the parts for certain songs, and practicing stage presence and performance.
