I take a holistic and entire mind and body approach to the viola. Viola is an incredibly rewarding instrument to play and is musically versatile--its a completely different beast compared to violin! Every student has different needs, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. I strive to pull from as many resources as possible to find the right fit for each student including Suzuki, Tuttle, Kodaly, Orff, and traditional pedagogies. I also incorporate improv, composition, and non-western styles. I make sure to foster an environment in which the student feels successful, yet challenged while at the same time. I want my students feel independent and confidence enough to make their own choices and cognitive leaps. I always center each lesson around my student’s interests in order to make our time as engaging and fun as possible. Every single person has music inside them, and its my job to help flourish that ingrained musical sense. Let's
