About Joseph L.
I am Joe L. from Lebanon, New Hampshire. I started playing guitar at age 11. Over the years I explored many different styles such as rock, blues, metal and classical. As I further devoted myself to music I started playing the flute, saxophone, piano, and bass. My passion for music led to several successes including earning first place in Tuck’s Rock Dojo’s regional music competition as a lead guitarist and media appearances including The Herald and Valley News newspapers. I was also teaching private lessons at the time to students with various interests and learning abilities. Upon approaching jazz, I studied with Don Mock and Scott Mullett. Soon after, I was accepted to Berklee College of Music as a guitar performance major, during which time I performed with several ensembles and studied with significant artists such as Richie Hart, Sheryl Bailey, Bruce Saunders. Currently, I’m focusing on establishing myself as a performing artist and growing as a music teacher.

Taught me some cool new blues picking. This guy knows his shit!

Joe is a great guy and musician, a really easy person to work with, talk to, and hang with. Most importantly he is an extraordinary musician, he knows his stuff, and he knows how to communicate it to a student. His knowledge spans far beyond a pro and his teaching skills surpass many "professional" teachers I have worked with in the past. Nothing but a joy every lesson. Joe has opened my eyes to what the fretboard displays harmonically. I am grateful for what he has given me. Thanks Joe!

I'm currently taking electric guitar lessons from Joe. Without a doubt, it is the highlight of my week to spend an hour jamming with him. While learning a new instrument is always difficult (especially one as physically/mentally demanding as the guitar), Joe is endlessly knowledgeable and always has a cool new trick to show me to make everything less daunting and more fun. It has been such a joy to be instructed by someone so funny, talented, patient, and kind. I cannot recommend Joe enough!

Great guy. Very knowledgable and passionate in the subject. Ask him about what he's listening to.

Joe helped my take my jazz chops to the next level! He is a very talented player, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their playing 🎸🎸
