Experience
Bassist
Jan, 2017 - PresentIf You Have To Ask
If You Have To Ask is a 7 piece band that plays mostly funk, latin, pop, hip hop and jazz originals, with some covers mixed in. With every member being highly talented on their instrument, we are able to add improvisational inspiration on every performance. This gives our shows a very organic, engaging and energetic feel! We have performed all across Houston as well as shows in Austin. Some venues we have performed for are: House of Blues, Antone's, Karbach Brewery, Axelrad, Rockefeller's, Warehouse Live, and many more! We currently have 3 songs on all major music streaming platforms featuring Jonathan Galvan on bass.

Bassist for Hire
Aug, 2007 - PresentFreelance
As a musician, I have studied music in all genres and styles. This has allowed me to contract myself as a bass player for bands needing someone to substitute for a show. I have performed with numerous different bands, covering many different styles of music such as: blues, latin, rock, funk, soul, jazz, classical, rap, hip hop, and pop. I have played all types of shows as well, including weddings/private events, bar/restaurants, festivals and concert venues. Several gigs have required me to learn a large amount of songs (some as much as 40-50!) in only a matter of a few days and perform with musicians I have never met before. I also have served as a bass player for Church services for the past 8 years.
