Music Theory with John P.

Greetings! My name is John P., and I'm a composer with over a decade of experience writing for voice, piano, chamber music, concert band, and orchestra, among other ensembles. My focus has always been building bridges between cultures across time and space. I strive to create music that is organic, cohesive, and sensitive to the needs of the clients, the setting, and the intended performers. I hold an MM (Master of Music) in composition from URI, an MBA from Salve Regina University, and BA from Connecticut College, where I graduated in music with honors and distinction (my other two majors are Biochemistry and East Asian Studies). My teaching experience includes two years of instructing college music theory and assisting rehearsals in both academic and community music. I am a firm believer that anyone can learn music with the right approach, and can benefit from it in many ways! My passion is helping each student discover the method that works best for them.
