    About JoAnne H.

B Mus from U of U 1975. M Mus Ed from Boston U 2008. Retired Orchestra Director and teacher (grades 5 - 12) Tooele HS & Jr HS + elementary program. Former Utah State Fiddle Champion. Past affiliation with Utah Oldtime Fiddlers. I still love helping students reach their musical potential. I am currently directing the Salt Lake Valley New Horizons Orchestra (a group dedicated to helping older beginners and intermediates have fun while improving their music skills). I offer a personalized approach, and I am able to tailor materials to best serve an individual student's needs. I am experienced at starting beginners, and also adept with intermediate students. For special needs students I would need someone familiar with the student's needs to attend lessons with the student.

I left after my first lesson as an adult, looking forward to future lessons. She is very proficient in the way she gives her class, sensitive to the needs of the student, and has a pleasant manner that soon has you at ease. I felt I learnt quite a bit in that first class.
