I am a professional violinist and arranger. I've studied violin for a little over twenty years. For about half of that time, I was playing with poor technique and had to go into physical therapy at age 16 because of all of the pain I was experiencing. At that point, I began studying under a world class pedagogue at Indiana University who taught me how to play properly and without pain. Not only did my pain get better, but also my sound! I worked my way up from student to teaching assistant and he taught me how to teach others his world class technique. I received my bachelors of Music in violin performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2014, and one of my passions is to teach that same technique to my students from the get-go, so they never have to endure the pain that I had to.
Since then, I've played with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, performed over 700 concerts representing the Lincoln Center in New York in their partnership with Holland America Line, and have just recently started touring around the United States with my crossover string quartet. We write most of the arrangements that we play, and another strength of mine is arranging because of that. I love playing all kinds of music, and I firmly believe that if you learn how to play classical violin with the proper technique, you can play any kind of music!
Performed representing the Lincoln Center in their partnership with Holland America Line. 3 concerts a night, 6 days a week. Over 10 hours of music learned. Over 700 concerts played.
Fixed technique to supplement Mrs. Vamos' teachings and help new students with their sound.
Learned from members of the Chicago Symphony and worked with Yo Yo Ma and Riccardo Muti.
Taught and fixed students basic technique to promote better sound and less pain.
It was a pleasure to take lessons from Jinty. As a musician already, I needed instruction primarily in violin technique, and that's Jinty's forte. I improved a lot due to her patient guidance and the exercises she gave me. I regret that I was unable to take from her longer, but I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a violin teacher.+ Read More
Jinty was my first violin instructor and did a fantastic job at introducing me to not only the technical aspects of playing, but also the musicality that's necessary in performance and enjoyment. She was very patient with me as a beginner and was very prepared to teach. We always did a variety of different exercises in our lessons, and my following instructor was impressed at how prepared I was for the time in which I had been playing. Jinty helped me to find the love for violin that keeps me playing today!+ Read More
