Hi, I am a multi-international prize winner and a dedicated teacher. A piano performance graduate of Manhattan School of Music and University of Illinois, I have collaborated as soloist with major orchestras in China, USA, Europe and South America for fifteen years.

In the summer of 2006, I made my critically acclaimed European debut at the International Piano Festivals held in Spain and Canary Islands. In 2008, I was selected by famous New York critics David Dubal to perform in his lecture concert series, live broadcast on WQXR. From October of 2008 to July 2009, I won five international competition awards around globe, which led me to several concert tours in the following years. In August of 2009, I participated in the prestigious George Enescu International Music Festival in Bucharest. In May of 2010, I participated in the Gilmore Keyboard Festival Masterclass in Kalamazoo. That year also marked my recital and concerto debut in Panama and Colombia as well as in Krannert Center of Performing Arts in Illinois. In 2012, I made my solo recital debut at Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series in Chicago. Besides my frequent solo appearances,I have been an active collaborative chamber musician.I have performed a number of chamber music concerts with many instrumentalists around the world, highlighting a tour with a string quartet around the Netherlands in August, 2007, after having received two-week-long coaching with Menahem Pressler and Shumel Ashkenasi.

Along with my performing career, I have been teaching young piano students since I was eighteen. I have experience teaching all age-group in masterclasses and private lessons.

*** Lesson Details ***
I love teaching all age-group piano students! I find teaching is rewarding when a student is making progress, learning effectively and having fun with music. My teaching style and lesson focus will be unique for each individual person, and I'm very flexible in adapting to each student's needs and personality. My specialty is to discover and make each student find their own technique and sound on piano.

I am a friendly, easy-going and patient teacher, but I do have expectations. My ultimate goal is to help each student cultivate spiritual and physical well-being, along with the ability to recognize and develop personal and musical strengths, and to recognize and address respective weaknesses.

Magic piano teacher

I have known Jingjing personally through his performances for five years and recently my 6-year old son started having lessons with him. At first, my son wasn't really be able to sit tight for 10 minutes but after a few lessons, he could concentrate for 25-30 minutes. Jingjing's lessons are magical! And my son enjoys the lessons now. He already played a few folk songs and was encouraged to compose his own music at the piano. I really appreciate Jingjing's effort!

Great piano lessons!

I've had piano lessons with Jingjing for about five months and learned a lot from him. He is very musical and passionate teacher, a good influence to me. He has most amazing sight-reading skill and taught me how to read music quickly. I really appreciate that. Also, he improves my technique a lot by using some interesting finger excercises and etudes. I strongly recommend him!

A knowledgeable music teacher

I've taken piano and music theory lessons with Jingjing for half an year to prepare for my college entry. He is a very patient yet active teacher. He teaches both piano and music theory excellent, sometimes a bit extra music history during the lessons. I feel his lessons always offer something new and interesting. For me, he is a perfect teacher!

A wonderful teacher in Chicago

My son has had piano lessons with JingJing for a year and loves his teaching and playing. JJ always listens to my son's playing carefully and gives good and clear comments. He is also a talented player himself so he often plays a piece or two at the lesson. I highly recommend JingJing to everyone who wants to improve the piano skill and music making process.

Best teacher ever!!!

Our 8-yr old son has been taking lessons from Jingjing for the last 10 months or so. He had started learning piano about 2 years prior to starting with Jingjing, but has improved tremendously in the last ten months under Jingjing's guidance.

Jingjing really tailors lessons to the student. His teaching style includes a healthy amount of music theory along with playing, and he pays a remarkable amount of attention to the piano techniques - hand position, finger position, wrist movement, articulation etc. And something else Jingjing does which I find fascinating -- Jingjing wants my boy to learn about the composer when he is learning a new piece. It's probably a bit too much to absorb completely for a 8-yr old, but I have little doubt that Jingjing's teaching is inculcating an appreciation for music that help him develop over the years.

We are really glad that we found Jingjing. What he is doing for my son's music skills and appreciation is far beyond our expectations.

Great piano teacher and player!

I've studied with JingJing for two years and made a big progression. He's helped me increase my interest on piano and music in general. He's been very professional, inspiring and reliable. At every lesson I learn something new and essential for my piano playing and practicing. He also taught me music theory and history a bit during the lessons. I am happy and will continue studying piano with him.
