Learn Tuba from a Brass Teacher with 16+ Years Experience
*Available for Summer Lessons* As a collegiate educator, I have been a tuba instructor on TakeLessons since 2014, and have been teaching all the brass instruments since 2006. For the beginner level, I have introduced many students to their first instrument ensuring that fundamentals are in place. At the intermediate level, I have helped many students advance in competitions and seat assignments within their band program. As a collegiate educator, I have given masterclasses at universities and private lessons to music performance students preparing for auditions and solo recitals. My students truly enjoy the online interaction during their lessons. I have taught a wide variety of ages - everyone from 10 years old to 76 years old. One of the great joys I have in teaching is that each student brings their own unique strengths to lessons. My goal is to raise their level of playing while always having fun.
About Jeremy S.

My name is Jeremy S. and I have been on TakeLessons since 2014 and have been teaching privately since 2006. As a college instructor, I teach in the brass areas at Ohio Wesleyan University, Kenyon College, and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The trombone is my primary instrument, and it has taken me all over the world, including China and South Korea. As a professional musician, I have had the fortunate opportunity to perform with bands, orchestras, jazz orchestras, and brass ensembles all over the country. As an expert in his field, I look forward to helping new students achieve their goals. My teaching style is positive, supportive, patient and constructive, focused on the individual student's needs, and enjoyable. I will work at your pace and cares about each of his students. I will teach you the proper slide positions and fingerings, technique, how to read music, and how to improve your playing. I have helped many students improve their playing skills on trombone, trumpet, tuba, and baritone/euphonium, with many students successfully auditioning for youth orchestras, competitions, and college auditions. I provide both traditional classical training and jazz improvisation on trombone (including bass trombone), trumpet, tuba, and baritone/euphonium. In lessons, we will also cover music theory and music history to help complete our full understanding of the music. If you have any questions, please let me know, and I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals! - Jeremy S.
