David (11) has been working with Jeremy for a while now and he's had some rocky patches (getting braces and worse, getting an expander!) but Jeremy was there encouraging David the whole way and sure enough, you can play the trumpet with all that extra metal in your mouth after all!

David also has Brass at school but prefers his sessions with Jeremy where they are centered around David's specific needs and current goals. We have seen such an improvement in both David's ability and confidence which translates directly into more enjoyment playing his chosen instrument, the trumpet.

Great lesson. I actually wrote a review eariler as I didn't realize I'd be prompted by take lessons to post after the lesson so I don't want to write up the same things. I would like to point out that my easily stressed son isn't very stressed about getting braces now that he has Jeremy's support and experience to fall back on.

Bit of a first month update. Jeremy is better than expected (and this was a good expectation based on my son's first lesson). I played piano and yet I find none of that knowledge seems to lend itself to trumpet, plus I have no ear for the trumpet. David (my son) can hear himself with a bad buzz but it all sounds the same to me. But back to Jeremy, even though David has been playing Trumpet for a little over a year I had no idea how many basics he was never taught! And Jeremy picked right up on where his knowledge is lacking and they are already rocking through basics I thought David would have learned in Band or at least in Brass/Percussion class. So just really thrilled (both my and my son) that Jeremy quickly saw where David's knowledge was lacking and is already improving his confidence and ability in such a short time.

I wasn't sure how trumpet lessons would go online as it seems like it would be one of the harder things to teach at a distance. But the first lesson with my middle son went great! David (my son) took to Jeremy pretty quickly, which is a great sign as David doesn't really like "new" people. But he left his lesson excited about what they would be doing the following week.

I also wanted to mention Jeremy's follow up with me was cool in that he recommended a book for David and went the extra step to link it to both Amazon and a local music store to be sure I easily found the correct book. It's the little things like that that show tutors that care about going the extra step to make everything go smoothly.

I had Jeremy as a tuba instructor my last year of college. I was a bit skeptical since he looked so young, but after my first few lessons with him, I realized what a valuable teacher I had. He was very supportive, and instead of making me feel like a failure in my mistakes, gave me the instruction and tools necessary to succeed. I wish my time with him had been longer, but I loved the short time we did work together.

Since our son has been working with Jeremy, he has a new confidence and has moved to second chair in band placement. His technical skills and musicality have improved, and he is working on fundamentals instead of just working on band music. Our schedules have been very busy, and Jeremy has been very flexible in working with us. Our son loves the online format, and we much appreciate not having to haul him around for lessons!
