I’ve only forgotten the pandemic when I’m playing the banjo with Jared. I crave clear criticism and he gives me the specifics so I can truly improve. Jared has all the qualities you want in an excellent music teacher, but what takes it to the next level for me as a student is his enthusiasm and gentle humor.
Highly recommend.

I knew nothing about the banjo when I started taking classes with Jared, and I learned so much in a short amount of time. He emphasized not just how to read sheet music, but also how to transcribe a song from a recording which helped me learn songs more quickly and play together with others in an ensemble. His passion and patience are a great combo for a teacher!

I took lessons in clawhammer banjo with Jared, and learned quite a bit even though I started myself with clawhammer around 1958 or so. He was very thorough and a very pleasant person, and is very patient.

Jared is an incredibly patient and easygoing teacher! He taught me how to play banjo — I went from not even knowing how to hold the instrument to being able to read tabs, write my own parts and play some songs, too. I did not give him much to work with, since I have no other music experience, so he accomplished a lot!

I took an adult beginner banjo class with Jared a few years ago. It was a lot of fun, and taught me all the basics.

Jared is fantastic! I started learning the banjo and he was a great teacher for a beginner. Highly recommend!

Jared was my banjo teacher through Bantam Studios. He did a great job of keeping the lessons fresh each week and really developing our abilities. He was able to provide feedback in a way that felt helpful but not critical. If you are looking for a banjo teacher this is the best person for the job.

Jared is an excellent teacher on any instrument he offers. A deep reservoir of tunes and an impeccable approach to helping you learn an instrument, or move beyond where you currently are!

Jared is a super talented musician, an encouraging and skilled teacher, and a really nice guy! You'll have a great experience studying banjo or bass with Jared!

Jared was the best! He helped me build confidence as I learned the foundations of upright bass.

He is an awesome teacher I learned and he has a great personalty.

Jared was my teacher in a beginner's banjo class. He was patient and clear with his instructions, making sure that everyone in the class really understood what they were doing. He was also willing to take feedback, which I think is a sign of a great teacher. I'd absolutely recommend him.

Jared is awesome! I was very nervous going into my first banjo lesson, but Jared put all my worries to rest. He’s incredibly patient and communicates direction well. I always left the lesson feeling energized and excited to get home and practice. I would definitely recommend Jared to anyone hoping to further hone their banjo skills.
