Hello! I am a bass player currently living, working, and studying in Boston. I have a Bachelors of Music from New England Conservatory and am currently pursuing a Masters of Music at Berklee College of Music's Global Jazz Institute.
I have a background in Jazz and Classical on both the upright and electric basses. I also love to play piano, compose, and every now and then play some drums.
I am currently studying bass with Susan Hagen of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and piano with Doug Johnson at Berklee. Additionally I am working with bassists John Patitucci and Ben Street at the Global Jazz Institute.
Some of my past teachers include Cecil McBee, John Lockwood, Dave Holland, John McNeil, Don Palma, Frank Carleberg, Jason Moran and Miguel Zenon.
Isaac has been teaching private students since 2011, working on not only improving himself as a musician but as a teacher as well.
Isaac spent a week at the Panama Jazz festival where he taught clinics and gave performances.
I have just begun lessons with Isaac. He is an excellent teacher; attuned to my needs, very good at explaining things, patient, very good at getting me to understand what I need to know. I look forward to learning upright bass with him!
