Music was a huge part of my upbringing. I had so many great teachers along the way, and I want to inspire young people to achieve their musical goals just like my teachers inspired me. I'm a jazz trombonist from Charlotte, NC currently living in Washington Heights. After getting my B.M. in Trombone Performance from Appalachian State University, I moved to New York City to further my studies in the Master's Program at Manhattan School of Music. In 2016, I was the winner of the jazz portion of the Texas State Trombone Competition. I'm an active freelancer in the NYC jazz scene while I finish my studies. Above all, I want to help cultivate a love of music in my students. The study of music teaches values that are not just relevant to performing, but to all of life: self-discipline, patience, humility, and the ability to listen to others. I truly believe becoming a musician makes you a better person, and I want to help as many people as possible to follow that path.
