My personal philosophy of music is to explore and learn as much from my students as I can teach them. For me teaching is like going on an adventure to find something together. I've been able to play all over the world and tour with many different musicians and the thing that made the core of every great performance was the human interaction and communication. For me music is about being more human. This is something I just as much try to impart and teach in my lessons as theory and technique. (On a side note I can travel farther than 13 miles as long as it's in the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx).

Grady has been super helpful and it’s only been my first class. He’s really teaching me the fundamentals of piano but also making sure how it’ll all tie back to my own personal goals.
Grady is a fantastic teacher. My 11-year-old son has been learning xylophone from Grady for a year and is still excited about his weekly lessons and loves it. Grady introduces my son to the joy and creativity of music.
Grady rocked it! Our grandson was immediately comfortable and Grady gentlly but firmly moved him along (including solfege) so he was beaming and playing Twinkle by the end of the lesson. The communication through (and by) TakeLessons is great, so we easily jumped on to the lesson.
