    About Evamarie T.

Growing up in a musical family in the Bay Area, California - her mother and brother are pianists and organists, and her dad a singer - it was no surprise that Evamarie would also find a passion in music. Picking up her first violin at 5 years old, she completed her formal musical training at the Boston Conservatory of Music in Violin Performance, in Boston, MA, USA. Thereafter, she returned to the Bay Area and continued to develop her ability and performed for various special events and orchestral and chamber groups. Discovering she had a desire to share her musical experiences with others, she eventually started to teach violin full-time and took up the position of Co-Director at the San Jose Academy of Music in San Jose, California. At SJAM, she developed a studio of 35 young violinists and pianists, pioneered an after-school string program for violin, cello, and harp in the local elementary school, and directed a school choir. This brings us to Evamarie's other musical interest: Singing - Broadway and Classical tunes. With the strong belief that singing is an important, basic fundamental for young musicians, Evamarie incorporates singing into her teaching methods. She has experience teaching children's choirs in San Jose, CA, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, Japan, with young musicians from ages 3 to 12 years of age, with repertoire from various styles: Jazz, Classical and Pop. With all the experiences that Evamarie has gained through the years, her desire is to create a love and appreciation for music for every child.
