I have been playing the trombone for 22 years and, as a public school teacher, I know how to break down trombone playing into manageable parts that foster continued growth from my student.

Hello! My name is Emily and I've been playing trombone for the last 22 years; I've taught lessons four of those. I'm also fluent in Spanish. I am a public school Spanish I teacher and love helping my students succeed!

In my free time I love hiking, playing with my dog, and reading. Let me help you go far with your trombone playing and/or Spanish speaking!

My 5th-grader needed some help learning to play the trombone on her own so by mid-year, I discovered "TakeLessons" and signed her up with Emily. Emily was terrific—she started at the very beginning to make sure my daughter had a solid foundation with technique before moving on. While my daughter had some basic knowledge of reading music, Emily did a great job filling in the gaps and refreshing her memory. Emily was extremely patient, positive, and encouraging during the lessons and always followed up via text with a brief progress note immediately after. We plan to continue with Emily—I highly recommend her.

My boys love Emily! She adapts to their needs and always has fun ways to learn Spanish.
